Started Germinating 4 days ago, 12 hours it cracked and I planted it in a potting soil medium, watered it pretty excessively for some reason and left it to be. 2 days in, After the surface was still pretty wet, I figured i overwatered it, i went looking for the seed with a sanitized tweezers and found it, the taproot is now about an inch long but the seed was about 2 inches under the soil! I am glad I went looking for it. I now planted it in a more conservatively watered medium, I buried the full taproot under, very lightly, (watered it a little before i did this, then a little bit after), but I am having the part with the seed casing showing, SLIGHTLY above the surface with bits of soil over it, and slightly watered it more. Now I am waiting, Is this a bad method? Should I bury it a bit more? Just worried that the seet ended up so deep in my first medium so i really want to to be able to sprout. Will post pics VERY soon!

I would leave it be for now. They really don’t need much right now. If you can put a dome over the top that will help keep it humid and warm So it can develop. Sometimes it seems like nothing is happening above the soil because the roots are growing underneath. You don’t want to water too much because the roots also need oxygen and if the soil is too wet it can dampen off and die. The best thing right now is a warm sunny place with humidity for the first couple weeks. Less is best for cannabis. Sometimes we love them to death :weed:
I water my seedlings from the bottom, I think it helps the roots grow. I put the pot in a saucer and put a small amount of water in the saucer. Good Luck :peace:(:

It looks like it's drowning.
Yeah, I promise it looks alot more wet than it is, photo is taken in the dark with flash on with camera pretty close. I could be wrong and could still be overwatered though. I do not think it would be worth another transplant though, would you agree or?

There's nothing to transplant. Stop giving it water and just leave it alone. ;-) It hasn't even sprouted yet.

very small update, but showing some "progress", maybe i should have gotten it a little bit deeper, but have not touched it, besides moving away the large debris and other large pieces that seemed to absorb alot of water!

Here is a pic. pretty crazy!

woke up and my cats got in my closet and destroyed the plant. I am so stupid.
Very sad and feel very ignorant. what a dumb way to lose a plant....found that seed in a bag and man it blossomed so fast...thought I had a great thing.....Now I must wait for more seeds. Pretty sad. Sorry to report the grow has died :(

Oh man! I believe that everything happens for a reason and is Divine Order. If it was a “bag seed” chances are, it could have been a “hermie” which is not a fun discovery if you are trying to grow top shelf bud so the cats probably did you a favor!
So you gained some experience with sprouting seeds AND you now have to opportunity of getting a feminized seed or clone and the sprouting process is going to be easier because you have some experience (: Good luck on your future grows(::peace:
