In all honesty matt, I believe your biggest downfall was trying to go to big to fast. Start out small and work your way up to where you want to be. You wouldn't try to grow 100 mj plants at once unless you knew what you were doing would you? Just friendly advice, don't mean to sound harsh.

MJG, I would not mist the pins directly, though the fruits will become
more durable as they mature.

I will often hold the sprayer so as to drench areas without pins though. :0)

As to how long they will take, I would suggest a week. It varies with strain
and environment. PE can take twice as long...and do not even get me started
on the mexicanae.

If you need prints, then feel free to leave the caps until you start to see spores
on the nearby caps, or take them just as the veils break for best eating.

Do not drink strong acids if you want to get a proper gauge of their effect curve.
(I do not recommend the "lemon tek" except to advanced psychonauts who for
some reason need it all at once....take more if you want more! ;0)

you dont sound harsh. i dont think i would have had as many issues if my enviorment was a bit more clean but im trying to grow in a complete pigsty...soon i move and will have space for my op and will get the sterile tek down much better.

never be afraid to speak your mind, if people cant take the criticizm then dont deserve your advice

I will have to post pics of the environment I have to work with, far from a sterile environment. The fact that I have managed to get anything to fruit here amazes the hell out of me.

Things are moving along great, hope to be picking my first flush this weekend sometime. Would moving my FC to a warmer location speed things up a bit? I currently have it in The basement in my uncles "man cave" sitting on the floor, been worried that the concrete for could be drawing out to much heat.

Warmth can be beneficial, but it is dangerous too.

As long as it is about 70 F then I'd probably leave it...lower than
than in all likelihood.

the warmer it is the easier contams set in and grow. alot of the bad stuff dosent like the cold. the mushies dont love it but will still grow so better to grow slow and contam free than quick and risky. at least thats what i have been lead to believe.

Exactly what I was thinking!

The first pins are now approximately 1/2 tall and I can see a lot more starting to pin and even more "knotting!" I am excited to see the finished fruits! Hoping to have at least 2 doses worth done by next weekend for me and a friend to test em. Figuring about 3-5g dry for myself and close to the same for my friend but he's never tried mushrooms before so I may give him a little less.
Will post another picture tomorrow.

1.7 g is nice for a lighter dose for me its like being really high but with euphoria and a little psychedelicness but no where near what I consider to be tripping

Enjoy that feeling but hate when im just on the verge of tripping. I handle myself well on mushrooms, but have never had any this fresh(to my knowledge anyway) so it will be interesting to see how much more potent they are that what I've had in the past

These things are popping up like crazy!!!! I'd say the caps have doubled in size in the past 24-36 hours and absolutely no signs of contam!

You would know if you had had fresh ones ..... they would still be wet. When they are fresh there is psilocin (the thing psilocybin turns into when consumed) in addition to the psilocybin present. Psilocybin is much more stable and unlike psilocin it survives the drying process without degrading significantly and so fresh shrooms are stronger.

Yes but I plan to dry my caps out before dosing, so I can accurately weigh out my doses. I have some desiccant packs in hopes of speeding up the process. Just in case I don't have time to completely dry them approx how much fresh mushrooms would I want to take? In the cases of fresh caps I will probably brew a tea to consume them.

They are never too small, in fact the mycelium itself is psychoactive, and of course the smaller ones are realitively more potent.

LOL, yes, pins are, by weight, more potent. :0)

As far as wet weight, the common factor is 10, as in mushroosms
are 90% water. So, you will want to eat 10-20 grams wet to approx
a 1-2 gram dry trip.

Well I said to hell with it and picked the biggest mushies I had and downed em! Only ended up with about 4g of mini shrooms will report back later and let everyone know how it goes but not expecting much.

you might catch a nice little buzz, dry equivelent is as java says with a tiny plus for it being fresh. maybe .5 gram

I agree...using pins, I would expect a nice little buzz....maybe brighter colors and
a feeling of greater depth. Nothing melting. :0)
