Yeah, makes sense to me for my first ever grow. Good variety to learn the ropes too I figure...maybe up the challenge next year!
Id say its possible anywhere but yes we can get it a fair bit you have good years and bad the ones i mentioned are more resistant than average i guess its the same as anywhere tbh it depends on lattitude im 56 ish i think so someone in England at say 49 or 50 can pull off alot more what lattitude you at if u know and dont mind saying obviously?
I’m on the dry side of the cascades. We average 27” (68cm) of rain a year 45N . I’ve been growing for 20+ years and PM and other molds can def be an issue.

Light deprivation is the way to go IMO. Initiate flowering a month or so early, so you are flowering when the sun is still overhead. Any strains you want.
Even if I had clones, it’s still way below normal temps and very wet for this time of year. I’m sure many growers here are having to pivot with their strategy. We (usually) have hot dry summers that drag well into mid-September, so I think I’ll be ok with autos this year. I know this year is just getting familiar with the process anyway — not expecting much but will do my best!

very sunny in my area here in Canada, and dry…(49.5N) …but this year has felt very UK! Wet wet wet and cloudy. Haven’t even planted yet! Would be a waste.

Yeah, autos. And now I’m starting to second guess my choice because they can start flowering with the slightest amount of stress. Next thing you know you have a 30cm plant budding (so I’ve heard).
