First Outdoor Grow

Thanks for atleast Viewing This!!!

As suggested in the title- I am about to embark on my first outdoor experience.

I have acquired 10 feminized seeds- 5 swiss cheese and 5 shortryders. I plan on starting them off inside in peat pellets under some fluorescent tubes.
One of the things I am wondering is how long they should be inside until they are moved outside? And will the difference in the intensities of light from the gentle fluoros to the pre-summer sun be too intense for them?

I have a site selected and have dug holes and filled it with organic potting mix and peat moss.

I plan on using a tea for fertilizer- a mix of worm castings, neptunes harvest liquid fish, and molasses.

Anything you could help with and any advice you give will be greatly greatly appreciated

Or if you just want to say "hi" that works too...

You sound like you've got it going on, man!

As far as the seedlings, it's really your call as to how long you want to keep them inside. I did mine this year for about two weeks inside, then a couple days outside in pretty solid shade, a day or two in partial shade and then put them in full sun. None of them are showing any problems and this has been a week and a half ago.

However, a couple I put right outside in direct sunlight as soon as they germinated (on the window sill) are doing just as well.

So I guess it's really your call....I say better safe than sorry.

The sun is harsh on a plant coming out of fluorescents, I know cause I've experimented w the males that I pulled out of my growbox and placed outside. The leaves change color and you can tell it's having a negative effect on the plant. So, like Angus said, "better safe than sorry" I'd put em' in shade first, then partial shade, then full sun.

thanks doowmd,

The spot I will be at has trees nearby so I'll have them under the trees first for a few days. I will then transplant them to their spots, I have some black meshing lying around so I'll make a temporary canopy out of that to give some relief from the sun. eventually I should not need it then.

any words of wisdom from the wise? anything is helpful
