First outdoor grow

Ok so I planted some seeds I collected from the past year and about 14 or so have begun to grow. I'm starting them in my backyard garden but plan on transplanting them to a secret location to have them mature. Right now they are tiny, probably only an inch or so high. My main question right now is when it would be wise to transplant them to the woods I have selected. The only things I'm really worried about are animals eating them, stress from the transplant, and people near my house recognizing them as marijuana once they grow a bit more.

Ive put about 30 seedlings in a spot outside and they ALL were wiped out.
Through my expierence.. They can sustain them selves at about 8inches or more tall wise.. and about 5-6 nodes..
When the leaves have 9 to 11 blades.

Try to seperate them right now though before their roots get big...
Their too close.

As long as you can keep the roots moist throughout the transplant, there should be minimal transplant shock. I would wait until the height suggested above just to be safe seeing that the smaller the plant, the easier it is to kill....

You may want to look into buying some black mesh net fencing (found at local hardware stores) and put that up around the site to deter wildlife as well as break up the green a bit. These fences are meant to be invisible from a distance..... just an idea

I'll definitely sepearte them a lot more ASAP. I would wait for the plants to be around 8 inches but by then they are easily identifiable and could cause me some serious trouble. Is there no proven way to stop animals from eating/killing smaller plants?

Besides rodent pebbles or organic insect spray no...

Rodents you can keep away with a fence of some sort.. You'd have to invest in insecticide.
Heres a link from Uncle Ben on the best perpetual outdoor insecticide.

Btw.. Try to grow them as big as possible before putting on in wild then.

Not very fundamental when it comes to unnatural ways.

Well today I decided to move a few of the babies to the guerilla grow spot I picked out just so that I can test out if they get eaten or not. I used a knife to shave a bar of zest soap and sprinkled it all over the site in an attempt to keep any critters away. So far I am using no nutrients or pesticides. Goin all natural. Will let you know if the zest soap prevents any damages.
