First outdoor grow

Hey everyone, I'm new here and would just like to introduce myself as a new member and fellow grower.
I will be starting my first outdoor garden this year seeing as I now have 65 acres of private property that is mostly marsh and forest. I grew a few plants indoors last year and really enjoyed it, now I want to take it up a notch and do things bigger & better.

My seeds came in a couple days ago, I am going to start germinating them today with a paper towel & plate then put them in small organic pots inside a mini plastic greenhouse.20190426_115010.jpg

The ground seems very rich with dead organic material then is a wet sandy with a lot of rocks the deeper you go. I'm not sure if I should do buckets or make a garden in a higher elevated spot, any suggestions are appreciated. I'm in northern Ontario and have some weeks of prepping still but where I put them Is my biggest concern. Will be posting updates and move thread to outdoor section when I get to that point. Thanks everyone! Stay lit

Buckets with camo paint jobs if anyone can get near. Planting in ground assures you can’t relocate them. Top multiple times and supercrop them to break the plant profile. Install game cameras nearby.

Make sure planters have excellent drainage. Place where they get morning light as soon as possible. Stay away from them unless you are watering or feeding. Good luck.

Thank you, I am planning on doing those things and will be keeping updated as it progresses. Just wanting to have some reassurance and someone to tell me when I am doing something I shouldn't be.

So buckets is %110 i didn't even consider wildfires, because, yes i will be running back there to save my babies.

Im trying some jordans outside this summer. Some blue god, blue shiva, and pure blueberry(blueberry muffin edition). Hooefulley they work out. Dpending on where youbare located in the world. I would try planting them in the ground or some giant buckets. I am on vancouver island and have had plants outside already for 3 weeks and they are doing wonderful. Here is some pics of my blueberry muffin i grew indoors this spring and a pic of a clone from the same plant that my parents have going right now

Never heard of that seed shop, may need to give them a look sometime. Just curious is this 64 acres far from you home or why are you gonna grow in buckets? You live in Canada right? i'd just grow on my front lawn lol. I'm also in Canada still got a month to go before i'd trust to put a plant outside.

U have never heard of Jordan of the islands or honest genetics? Jordan is from vancouber island near me and honest is from the states someplace. Deal with him via email direct for his strains. He has a thread on here and is pretty in touch

The 65 acres is from my front lawn to some flags in the forest way out back hahaa and yeah im in ontario, pretty sure my plants would get sniped. I wasn't sure if i would need to move them due to floods or fires but I really want to plant in the ground. i took a pic of what the ground looks like out back idk if i need to really add anything to the soil tell me what you think

Soil looks OK, If you need to add any thing the plants will let you know, leaves will turn yellow or they will get brown spots. Have you ever planted any other plants in that soil/ground?

All you have to do to know how something will grow in the soil you have is to look at the vegetation naturally growing. Chances are you will need lime if nothing else. I would try a few in buckets just in case. Is there agriculture happening on the land surrounding you?

I just recently started a outdoor grow I always use bagged soil in buckets sometimes I have had to use a 55 gallon drum before but I’m forcing flower by covering them with a darked out car port so I don’t have to wait all season for longer nights it’s a little experiment I’m doing I’m trying to have a few outdoor harvests in one season i just cover them at 8 at night and uncover them at 8 in the morning seems to be working so far I’m using ffof soil and they are in 5 gallon pails but it’s looking like I might need to repot again soon

This will be a problem when it comes to flower
By leaving them covered at night they will build moisture and cause mold issues
The only way to make Light dep work manually is to cover at dawn than uncover, repeat same process in evening

I would do some more research but I haven't tried a dehumidifier LOL
Fans work in a green house so maybe
I can't imagine a scenario where you need a humidifier outdoors

I really wasn’t sure what I was gonna honestly need so I just set the car port up like a grow tent but without any lights my hygrometer is telling me that the temps and humidity are on point but I’ll have to do more homework then I guess

Some things have came up and I'm stuck growing indoors I think, maybe a few outside but not sure. Just going to focus on what's going on now. Anyways, should I transplant my plants? Had to take the dome lid off today.
