Alright so I have decided to try to grow my own ganja, The space I have to use is a closet about 19.5 inches deep, 39.5 inches wide, and 8 feet tall = 5.3 square feet. I got the money now to buy a 150 watt hps from htgs but will that be enough? The 150 watt bulb is rated at 16000 lumens that would give me about 3019 lumens per square foot. Im hoping to grow 4 plants in that space and i would like to get about a ounce off each plant. Or would it be better to keep saving my money and go with the 250 watt hps rated at 33000 lumens. That would give me about 6226 lumens per square feet. Im worried about heat issues with the 250 do they put out allot of heat? Need your help here, so thanks in advance :peace:

Easiest way to do this is how much $$$ do yo have to spend on your light, and we'll send ya to the cheapest, most efficient light !

Well i read that cfl's are no good for flowering, but i will be useing them for vedge. You should have between 3-5 thousand lumans per square foot flowering to get good results. I was just wandering if a 150 watt in my space would be enough, or if I should wait three more weeks and get the 250. But ya if you could recommend a good cheap place for a 250 setup besides htgs that would be cool thanks.
(no more than $140.00)

Here ya go....

T5 HO Florescents are the way to go.

4 foot T5 HO bulbs give you 5000 lumens per bulb, generate almost no heat, and are cheap to run.
The bulbs come in 6500K for Veg, and 3500K for flower. A buddy of mine has an 8 bulb fixture that
gives him 40,000 lument in his closet, and he grows buds almost as big as my 1000 watt HPS.

With floro's you can put the light right on top of your plants - thats a no no with MH or HPS.

Heres a link to a cheap source of lights - http://www.businesslights.com
They have 4 and 6 foot T5's .

Here's The 4 Bulb Version http://www.businesslights.com/elite-t5-fluorescent-fixture-c-200_446.html

CFLs can be used through the entire grow, however, if you have the option to get a 150w HPS it will work nicely in that space. The HPS will bring out better buds then say CFLs equivilant in wattage, and realistically, that many CFLs may put off comparable heat to an HPS set-up, especailly 150w. With an oscillating fan and the HPS you'd be surprised at the results you get, I think your goals are realistic right now depending on your strain choice of course. Good luck with it, keep us updated if you need anything

I got 31.5g of dried bud from one plant grown with 104w of CFL light very recently ... I'm pretty sure if canopied correctly with supercropping and effective use of the 150w, an ounce per plant whould be in the realm of possiblity
