First Real Grow

Hello everyone. I've been an avid reader for about three weeks now but I haven't had the camera to do a proper journal. This is my first real grow in the sense that hopefully they don't turn out to be males, and its not just some seeds I stuck in a pot in the window.

To begin with...

I actually stumbled upon some plants when a friend had to give them up. Unfortunatly they were about a week into flowering and I really didn't have the nessessary equipment to grow a proper flowering plant.

But I did my best
Rounding up the lights in the house made me realize just how much I was laking. So to walmart in search of some grow lights. Two GE Ecolux T12 40 watt Wide Spectrum Bulbs with 1900 lumens and 4 CFL's 3 26w with 1700 lumens and a 42w at 2700 lumens.

thats a total of 11600 lumens

of course I know this isn't enough to flower 4 plants effectivly but I didn't have much cash, and I knew this would be enough for veg or clones.
I was hoping more time under the lights would be my biggest problem.

After about 2 1/2 months of 12/12 the 4 plants given to me were done and ready to harvest, but it was no sensi.

The seeds were beautiful and striped and just looked healthy and their mothers had a smoth smoke.
I ended up with about 3 ounces total and about 30 seeds
(I'm even making my own hemp rope with the stalks to make some jewlry)

I didn't know the strain and I dont even have enough knowledge with live plants to guess really.

From 10 seeds 7 sprouted, and from 7 sprouts came 5 plants

they have been going for 25 days on 24 hour light.

I'll be posting all the time and updating with as much information as I can gather for everyone.

Everyone here has already been a great help with setting up and keeping the controls set, so if its not to much to ask for more I wouldn't mind.

This is a wonderful passtime and one of the most enjoyable activitys except for perhaps smoking the final product.

Ok so I'm back to do a little explaining on some more of the setup now

right now each of the plants are in 1 gallon buckets with expert perfect mix soil from wally world. they have newspaper in the bottow with a 1/2 inch layer of vermiculite at the bottom.

I've been watering them once every 3-4 days 500 - 700 ml of water 200ml at a time till it starts to come out the bottom.
every five or six waterings I double it up to keep from nute build up

I've been using distiled water thats always ph'ed anyway.

another thought I have been having is wether I should put it on an 18/6 light schedule anyway to help boost growth.
I just hate to put my babys to sleep because I can't wake em up.
Its not exactly like I work my bed time on a timer.

Each of the plants are put up on bricks so more air can enter from the bottom and to get them closer to the light.

I wan't to get them on some kind of feeding schedule but MG which is all i have has had the worst reviews.

ok so my room temp has a flux of almost 8 degrees F it's usually between 72-80
I don't have a clue as to the humidity but they are growing like crazy

o and I added another 26w cfl

i plan on making a light board with 12 cfls on it to cover a 1'x4' piece of plywood painted flat white.
all of them will be 42w so im hoping to really up the pace a bit.

i honestly have been reading more into LST and Scrog methods but im not sure i want to do that unless i were to have atleast a 250w hps

o well give me your thoughts

so i put the girls on 18/6 and im watching closely to see if it ups the growth rate.
if its nothing significant in about a week i hope to add the 12 cfls.
at the very least they will all be 26w as they are easyer to find in 6 packs.

i picked up a bunch more cfls and ill be building a grow cabinet very soon
with a space for mothers and clones and another space for scrog

all of them

i cant believe so much work went into a bunch of males
but its ok ive started another couple and they are looking great
not to mention the clones i took from my first original plants have reverted to veg and are taking off.

ill start another journal soon

Your going to lose potency aswell as integrity by forcing flowering plants back into veg. I would not suggest doing that again or using that plant as a mother as all of her babies may have lost some potency and integrity as they are just a copy of the mother.
