This is my first attempt at making concentrates.
I went with the ISO method.
Used 1/2 Oz of Low Grade Headys. It was real dry and kiefy.
1) I put the herb through a coffee grinder (it was real dry so it broke up completely which I wasn't really trying to do)
-It did get me a lot of kief though to put through the run.
2) Let it sit in a jar wrapped in Aluminum Foil in the back of the Freezer for about 2 hours.
3) Let the 91% Isopropyl Alcohol sit in the freezer for about 30 min.
4) I poured just enough Iso Alcohol in the jar to cover the weed.
5) I twirled the jar around, agitating the herb lightly for about 2-3 minutes until there was a thin layer of cloudy yellow liquid on top of the herb.
6) Quickly filtered out the herb through a white coffee filter into the first 2L.
7) Took that liquid that was left and put it through a fresh coffee filter and into the Pyrex Dish.
While I was doing all of that I had a larger Pyrex dish in the oven filled with water at 190 degrees F
9) I placed the smaller pyrex dish with the concentrate in the larger dish filled with water and let it cool in the garage for about 2 hours.
10) I attempted to collect the oil after 2 hours. It was real sappy and dark almost black brown/green.
11) Replaced the water in the larger Pyrex dish with boiling water at 185 degrees F and took a blow dryer to the pyrex for about 5 minutes.
12) After another hour and a half after everything left in the dish was completely evaporated and bone dry I began to scrape the yellow/gold concentrated from the Pyrex.
At this point I have two different qualities of hash. The dark solid ball that froze to almost glass like quality and the gold stuff that chipped off into small pieces and looks almost like glass or crystal.
Filtered Twice. Dried after 3 hours. Scrape Session Final Product. The yellow crystal stuff was pressed into these two chunks
Used 1/2 Ounce of Low Grade Heady. Nice smells when broken up. Really Dry.
Got exactly 1.0 gram total. Two different qualities of hash.
I used hardly any Iso, the bottle I bought is just passed the neck empty.
Only did one run.
Next run I am going to use 2 ounces of Sour D shake.
99% Iso if I can find it.
Non-bleach coffee filters.
Use a little more iso
Any feedback? How does the quality look?
