Welcome to RIU

What soil are you using? Did you add nutrients? If it's a soil that has nutrients added, it might be too strong for the seedling. Also, adding extra nutrients might be too strong.

How is your watering? It's easy to overwater seedlings. That will stress them out too. Do you know the pH of your water?

What are the light specs and distance? It doesn't look like a light issue to me, but it could be useful info.

Hi guys!

So I have a seedling that is only about 9 days old. The first set of leaves are turning yellow and the whole plant got less green overall. Any advice on what this could be from and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.
is that the bagged garden soil that says organic from walmart?

Thank you so much for the reply! Very happy to be here :)

I’m using Miracle Grow Organic Raised Bed Soil. I know mabye not the best but I had organic potting soil and that killed all my other seedlings. Overwatering might be the issue. I put her out in the sun and watered her a lot yesterday. I’ve been doing water every other day. Very little amount. I use a 45w LED light right now. Used to have a stronger one but it stunted all my old plants. I keep the LED light very close to so she doesn’t grow too straggly. And I didn’t add any nutrients yet! :)

Make sure that cup has drainage and you don't need to water every day when they are that small. LED should not be on top of the plant, that is ok for CFL but LED will cause light stress. Your light is 45watts, raise it to like a foot and see how it responds. The cotyledon leaves turn yellow and die eventually as they are no longer needed by the plant for nutrients. Once the roots begin to establish themselves, the plant will get its nutes from the soil and not those embryonic leaves.

Are you going to grow indoors or out? Pick one.

You'll need to check if your soil has nutrients in it and figure out how and what to feed if it doesn't.

Good luck

Your cotyledon leaves are probably turning yellow because the new leaves are pulling nutrients from them that the plant can't get from the soil.
Have you checked your water PH? I like it ~6.3

Overwatering, the roots are drowning. Every other day is way too much for a seedling this size. Water less often with more water.

Going to stick with outside. Just bought a Soil moisture meter & a ph tester. The only thing I am not sure how to do is check what nutrients it's missing. I have cal-mag I ordered for my bigger plants do you think that would be okay for the little girl if it was super diluted?
