First shatter attempt ( thanks to the community! )

20150402_133342.jpgSo this is my first attempt, I just wanted to thank the community for the helpful threads that ultimately lead to my interest in making consentrates.

For this run I used puretane, they sold it at my local head shop and said that it was made for concentrate production. I did however do a little research and ended up ordering some colibri butane as well. I even ended up going as far as to buy a vacuum chamber that should be here next week, but this run was just heat purged. Looking at it now Im going to purge it a little further too.

Im looking for a vac purge system. Im in Canada too. What and where you get it?

Yeah i ordered mine from where Flagg420 got his. - http://www.bestvaluevacs.com/3-gal-stainless-3cfm-kit.html I bought the 3gallon stainless steel version to go with my induction hotplate.


Be aware though!! When shipping into Canada your Vacuum will incur 80$ in taxes that will need to paid before the delivery, you'll have to call UPS and pay over the phone with credit card. Kinda dumb but it has to be done.

Man I don't know if I really even need a vacuum!?! Just throwing it in the oven seemed to work fine for me... What are the True Advantages of vacuum?

Advantage of the vacume is to use less heat to get the same reaction as a higher heat aswell as activlys sucking the butane out as it comes out of the oil
U can do with heat alone just takes slightly higher temps for slightly longer and heat degrades thc above 170 and will also turn ur stuff darker amber/black if done for to long
I've seen many ppl do it but that's just my experience with the subject

Well apparently it was Not an absolute must. I fucking did it. Amber--a little darker than I wanted because I couldn't push it through the filter quick enough--but taste better than any bull shit crumble wax oil around here for $50 a gram! My shit taste Cleaner and Hits harder and higher.

So to say it "is a must" is a False Statement.! That's like saying the Only way to grow is with Chemicals and HIDs! Yeah You get the fuck out of here @Twitch. you provided No help except your own worthless opinion.

Perhaps vacuum is better because no heat whatsoever, but even that could be debated because if not ever heated than it is never decarboxylated so you couldn't immediately fold it into candy...

Id love to see some lab results after using your purging method cannakis.....your missing the point here. You may be able to purge using heat(still not as effectively as your thinking) but with the heat your needing to use your degrading your oil not only in flavor, but potency and smell as well. I know I for one didn't drop close to 10k into an extraction set-up because it was cool or some shit, if there was a cheaper way to go about producing a clean, safe, desirable medicinal product, then I would of gone that route......but there isent. Yes, You need a vacuum oven or chamber to purge properly. I find it ridiculous that because of your personal opinion of some oil you made, but never had tested, you now feel that you can correct those that do this for a living, and hand out advice as if your familiar with this side of industry.

lol son, you have no idea... If you had done research you would know that we apply heat to the vacuum "oven" so your rant....

So this leads me to believe that you don't know anything really on the subject matter, and you put your oil that is off gassing butane in a regular convection oven? is that right????? because if that is the case then no one should be taking any advice from you.

yes I freely offer my opinion, but the only people that get offended are the ones that doesn't listen, my inbox is full of people asking me for my advice, I didn't put a post out saying "hey come ask me if have any questions because I am all knowing, no I have stated in many posts that I do NOT know everything just more then most... and in this case I can confidently say I know more then you.....

The Point of a vacuum is to Purge without excessive Heat as I have read and was hoping clarify on here... I apologize that I used No heat instead of the Precise word of Some heat. Oh please forgive me massa! Please forgive me!

And No I don't use butane, too volatile and expensive I can get ISO for a 10th of the cost. So Yes I Do after evaporating my isopropyl on a heating pad, I Do put in my oven a Gas oven at that!

And I'm saying my shit is Cleaner than any concentrate I can find LOCALLY! Read your shit right before you comment.

Sup with all the hatefulness?! My understanding was that an iso wash is finished with an evap, not purging. Therefore no vac needed. Bho requires an actual purging of the butane, hence a need for the vac.

Regardless, vape something and leave that harsh name calling for a face to face!

hahaha Yes Sir my apologies.! Ahh Now that makes complete sense! That must be why, because I use ISO.
