First signs of preflowers

Wassup RIU, I hope you all are doing very well. I am happy to see one of my plants showing preflowers, but at a very initial stage. Like the pistils aren't over obvious they are very small and you'd have to look very close to spot them. I just wonder how much longer will it take to see the calyx at a normal size? Right now it is very tiny and one small pistil is showing and they haven't been growing as fast as I thought preflowers would. My other plant hasn't shown any yet, its over a month old and over a foot in height. However its behind one week compared to the other one. So I should be seeing more preflower signs to come. Happy growing all.

are u sure its a pistil ur seeing? is it green and attached to the stem of the plant? with no calyx? its not a pre flower by the sounds of it, common mistake for new grower's, u wanna sex ur plant flip it to 12/12 or if outdoors put it in a dark room for 2 days then back outside. pictures say more than you can describe for future reference

I can't think of nothing else that grows out of node with a hair like quality I'm pretty sure its a preflower. Its attached to the node or stem yes. It doesn't look like a fully formed calyx I think its a baby one, its small but has a single hair coming out of it. I heard that forcing your plants to show sex too early inducing 12/12 before they are ready can stress a plant. I chose just to go the natural way and let the preflowers show themselves. I will flower them in a couple weeks regardless. I could give you a pic but the preflowers are so small that it won't show on camera very well. Thanks

stipules are present on all male and female marijuana plants. they look like little green hairs that point upwards. they arent preflowers

The calyx wont swell until late in flowering. You can barely see them in pre-flowers, the two white stigma are the plainly visible sign at this stage. The bracts won't grow larger until the plant flowers.

cool man I just threw mine on 12/12.. going to flower with the MH for two weeks, then switching out with a HPS bulb. I didn't give them 36 hours darkness to signal flowering but I doubt that it matters much.
