First soil grow. Showing some deficiencies

i'm sorry i think the pic you provided isn't close up enough to determine a nute tox/def. however for the record i don't think you have one. those plants are too small to have used up all that N in the mix. could be this, could be that. your new growth looks nice and so i'm not concerned. i like t5's for veg. i got three of the very ones you have. and the plants look great. beefy stems. outstanding growth. i'm guessing your plants haven't been under the panel of t5's very long so why not give them another two weeks? all that fertility in your mix is a recipe for N claw which may not even show up until your third week in flower...then it's too late to do anything. and clawed plants mess up trich production, bud density, and taste. because...you can't smoke chlorophyl. it has to be broken down. don't be too hasty to add something when you only SUSPECT it's a nute def.

edit: and bring that panel down more. it's too far away:)

Ya I am not going to fertilize for another two weeks. The soil should have enough nutrients in it already. There is no new yellowing of the leaves. Seems to be bouncing back to normal. Def not nutrient burn. Its is a nitrogen deficiency, but the new soil seems to be correcting it. When should I begin feeding with 1/4 strength nutrients?

If you like you can spray Magic Green by House and Garden. It's a foliar feed. Apply as directed. The benifit of spraying is twofold: it is absorbed immidiately, you can reapply as needed. And you don't have to worry about adding too much N to the soil which will fuck you later down the road. Believe me, you don't want N claw. You'll be kicking yourself...and post more pix I'll check back.:joint:

ive never experience or heard of this "N claw" but im bout to check it out now... sounds like some nasty shiz...

you can easily tell if you have a N toxicity as your oldest leaves will show signs first... they'll turn dark green/blue looking and if its real bad they'll almost appear black...

edit: Dannyboy are you referring to the leaves curling down for the N "claw"?? never heard of it called claw before :) i probably should have just looked at the slang page... i'll do that now!

As far as strains go do some research on your local area. Depending on what part of the world your in will greatly affect your crop if the wrong strain is chosen. Also most strains require allot of sunlight to reach full potential. When growing in the woods be warry of the elements. To many tall trees will cause your plants to flower early. Do be cautious of forest animals as well...deer love marijuana! And will ravish your plants before they can grow. You might want to think about a barrier like chicken wire, or quite possibly a more natural approach like human hair.
