First stealth grow! (Noob post) Need pointing in the right direction!

What's up people!? Thanks for checkin my post I just joined roll it up today, pretty new to this and forums. I don't really know how it all goes, so i'll just get to the point

Okay so i've heard of many stealth grows for quite some time now, and i've got to that point where i'd like to start my own grow up. I've done a outdoor before but i dont really class that as a grow as all i done was watered it every day, i live in the uk so not the best of environments to do it in. But hey was nothing serious just a little experiment if you wish. Anyway back to the point! I still live with my mum and older brother. It wouldnt be a major problem if they found out, but i would like to keep it to myself. My room is pretty small but i want a box roughly 3 foot long, 1 and a half foot wide and about 2 foot high. I dont know much about keeping the height of the plants down and all that. So if anyone could help me out by telling me what sort of bulbs, nutes etc i need. I have a friend that could build it no problem just need some help on everything else and the design of a little grow box that isn't bait to anyone. If you could, I would get a bigger box. If your looking for stealth, get a cheap dresser locally and then convert it to a cab. That way you would have more room and just as stealthy. And a goodway to keep them kind of short is to use the LST method and I believe SCROG is a good way to keep the height down but not 100% sure.

I know this probabally isnt what you want to hear but in all due respect to your mother you shouldnt be growing in her home without her consent. If you think she is going to flip her lid about it then its just overall not a good idea. Besides putting her at risk legally you are using her money for electricity.

its her house, her rules. wait till you get your own place then start something up where the only person being affected is you. in the meantime, welcome to the forums, theres lots to read and learn here i suggest you browse around and read up on journals and what others are doing.

start making a list of what your going to need and the costs and start putting money away.

first things first and thats get permision from your mom, if she says no she might respect you for asking first. If she finds your grow she is just going to rip it up and possible tell you to get the fuck out of her house.

if your not 18, then waiting till you are is probably a good idea as well. Im sure if you help out with bills and are a reasonbly responible young man and you asked her in a respectfull manner things will work out better than if you just try and do it behind her back, even if she says no and you have to wait.

Thanks guys! And Matt, your right thats not what i wanted to hear, but im 18. My mum wouldnt hit the roof at all, i'd just rather she didn't know, you know? Like i said about my outdoor grow, she used to water it for me if was out. I used to show it to her she loved it. Its not the type of thing she'd go crazy it. She allows me smoking in my room. I do actually have a job to, if i was to do it. I'd support the cost's

And i havent really got enough room for a dresser really. I've got two sets of drawers what my tv and xbox sit on. I was going to replace them with the box. You following?

Hi there Redeye I think you may need to reconcider the hieghas 2 foot is nt realy high enough unless you intend on doing mini plants like little autos as when you take into consideration the hieght of the soil in pot and 8 of your 24 inches is already gone then your bulb another 6inches, you could do Sea of green grow, if you get my drift which will keep your plants short but wont fuck you on the yeild. I myself grow in the UK and have been for a lot of moon, if theres anything i can help you with feel free too ask, who knows i might be able too help in some way, you are probaly thinking sad c~nt i bet hes got no freinds, well not at all i just remember what it was like when i first started growing there were nt any forums or even computers, Fuck im showing my age now, no be careful there are an awful lot of shit cunts outhere willing to earn a few brownie points for grassing you up and be careful of the Weed bandits too lol All the best Doby Mick

Thanks doby appreciate the help i was just planning on doing a few autos. Anything with a half decent yield you know? I dont know much about growing i have a few mates that do it, so i'm aware of how careful you have to be to do this. But im just tryin to get as much help as i can from everywhere. Im gonna have to reconsider for a little more growing space then.... Hmm. Whats this sea of green you speak of?

Hithere again Sea of green is were you Trane the plants to grow short but very wide, the usual way of doing this is with a Grill, you want something that is 4 foot Square with loads of little 4 inch squares and what you do is feed the branches of your plant through the little squares oh yeah the grill has tobe about 8 to 10 inches above the plant and you end up with loads of top buds but this takes time as the last sea of green i did was a plant called Og Kush by Dinafem seeds and done realy well got 10 and a half dry Ounces but that took 4 mounths in veg then 8 weeks flower. If its autos your looking todo then just a couple of autos to recomend Pandoras by Paradise seeds LOw rider x N.L. by Sensi seeds Onyx by Short Stuff and Super cali haze By Short stuff and theres stinky by short stuff. You could do 12/12 from seed, and do several plants/strains in a small space. People pull several zeros off a single plant that way. Or just veg for a short time and definitely do LST training on your plants early on and keep them low and managed.

Go with CFLs and not some big HID light, too much heat.

Think about doing it in large storage containers so you can transport them to your new place if/when you move out. And they are easier to conceal than a grow out in the open in a room or closet. Cut holes in back for PC fans, line with something reflective, attach lights = instant veg/flower box. The bigger the better as long as it looks normal.

I'm 38 living on my own for 20 years and I still don't need my parents to know that I grow stealth weed. Just not something they would understand, even though they know I smoke, so I get it. Although my mom voted yes for the legalization of weed here in Colorado. It's definitely getting more accepted everywhere.

Okay im gonna have to look into CFL's and LST training. Because I dont really know much about them. Obviously CFL's are a type of light, and LST is when you tie string round the plant to grow it a different way yeah? Correct me if im wrong though. And I wanted to do a pc grow but I think its just too small, I wanted a bit more than what I would get from a pc box. You can only get one or two plants in them cant you?

yea pc grows are quite small. You might be better going with a tubbaware storage type of grow, its still a small space but its just a little more. Also if you want to be super stealthy you could stack 2 on top of each other, then cut the lid of the bottom one and the bottom of the top storage bin to where they connect but yet it looks like its just 2 normal bins stacked on top of eachother. You could super glue them together to where they dont fall or anything unless you really want them too. I got too much time on my hands...

If you're more interested in purchasing a complete one instead of building one yourself, there are a few choices on Ebay. Anything from mini fridges to speakers to PC's. Maybe there's one on there that's suitable for you.

I have a mate that can build me one custom to how I want/need it as he builds stuff like that for living, so thats not a prob. Just gotta figure out what sort of grow I want...

Hi Dude, 1st things first.. How many oZ do ya wanna pull and how often ? CFL's will work fine and are relatively easy to cool .. - I've made several Cabs and can pretty much help ya on any aspect - ZTELTHY

^^ this guy is the king of stealth cabs i have watched his grows and he does a outstanding job.


and i wasnt trying to be a dink about the mom thing...but i have seen quite a few posts in here where guys are 1/2-3/4 of the way through flower and mom or dad find the grow and rip it up....just dont want to see that happen to anyone. we dedicate alot of time and money into growing and it sucks that silly shit like that puts a stop to it and it ends up hurting the relationship between parent and child as well.

my bottom line point was just ask...its not going to hurt and if she is cool like you say she is maybe she will get involved again like she did in other grows and it might enable you to be able to get a little more space for your grow.
