First time bho. Just wanna make sure i know what i think i know.

Hello everyone. Been lurking on a ton of forums for awhile now and decided to join up with this one. Im sure the questions i have have been answered but trying to sift through the info seems more time consuming then just asking considering i may be mixing teks. I will probably be working with batches between 14-28gs. So lets get started....

Step one- break up bud into smaller but still decent sized nugs and pack tightly into my glass extraction tube. Cover it with a non bleached coffee filter or screen(what size if i go that route?). Held on with a hose clamp.

Step two- blast good quality butane through until the liquid is clearish(or how can i tell when im done?) onto a clean pyrex dish.

Step three- put that pyrex dish with the oil into a bigger pyrex pan with hot tap water and wait for the butane to bubble out helping it with a needle and going over it with a torch a little. Then once the bubbles stop put it in a toaster oven.

Now this is the part im not sure whats best as far as temp and time as ive heard many different answers.

Im not planning on vac purging obviously but any other tips for a beginner would be great. And also what would be a good vac purge setup for someone with my size runs if i wanted to go the route in the future. Thanks for the help guys, please go easy on me i forgot my vaseline

First freeze material, tane and tube.
Second no toaster oven please!
If your gonna try a heat only purge i would suggest a hot water bath on a electric griddle.
Third if you dont have a vac purge set up i highly suggest wintetizing as you will not get all butane out with just heat

Have you heard of blasting right into iso 99%. Then purging with a double boil. Would that be effect way to winterize?

Also if i do it the way i stated first. Do i blast onto pyrex then bring it inside to a warm water bath or have it in the warm water when i blast. Having trouble finding that

Yes i have tried blasting directly into pyrex with small amount of iso in it. It works ok. When i did it that way i would let iso naturally evap with a fan. You should do hot water bath outside never brong inside till 30 minutes after reaction stops

Ok thanks for the help bro. One last thing (i think) when i go to put it in the oven after the bath has gotten out what it can. Should i leave it on the pyrex or transfer it to parchment paper?

Dont put it in the oven. Heat is too high imo. If your doing the iso thing just let it air evap and scrape. Id then use a griddle and hot water bath to get it to the consistency you prefer.

Well my toaster oven gets down to 100-150 degrees which is perfect from what i heard? Shatter is made around 100 degrees to 120? I would just rather avoid two solvents for now. Maybe ill try it next time if it doesnt turn out good this time but i cant find and 99iso around me anyways not even 90

i wouldnt even make bho.. unless u have a chamber .. to much nasty shit being ingested.. unless your planning on taking it to higher temps. to get it all out.. but u sacrifice smell and taste. .. honestly.. a chamber and vac pump are cheap on ebay.. grab a best value vac.. and pump.. 250$ and have yourself some clean bho..

I've been thinking about making some bho but i'm having a hard time understanding the purging and winterizing. I see a bunch of different ways to do them both but what is the purpose of doing it? How are they different from each other?

i sudgest you make budder. blast into a dish. evaporate in hot water bath.. scrape into a pile wip the pile while on low heat untill it budders up. you can find lots of videos on budder.. check youtube

It's generally recommended that if your going to whip, you do so once the extract has been purged of butane.
Whipping when it's unpurged is just going to mix up the waxes and butane and create a consistency that's very hard to purge solvent from.
