Hello I'm new as and would love some help!

Just got my little mummas Mandala speed queen s from seed boutique and would recomend them to anyone cause they couldnt have done anything better.

What do I do now?

I'm planning growing in a set of draws and have enough space for two plants easily from from I have read on the net.
(~930mm H * 350mm D * 760mm W)
Excluding the amount of room the light fitting takes up and how high the plants will already be in their pots.

Iv got the draws all setup and lined them with white paper and lined the bottom with plastic so the cardboard/wood dosnt rot through.

I will be planning on using a single CFL ~115W, and maybe adding some straight tubes or even another light.
(though im a poor student so are trying to keep costs down and harvest up  )

I want my first harvest by new year
I am planning on soging

I have coconut fiber and jiffy 7 pellets, and will place these pots into two seperate 6L tanks.

I'm using two seperate tanks as I think this will give me a bit more room to make noob mistakes as I can apply whatever to one pot and wait a few days before I apply it to the next pot.
I have no idea about nutrients.

I plan to get a bubbler from the pet shop and a CFL.

I'am planning on using CFL as I dont want a minimal power bill increase and want to avoid any heat issues, because its in a draw.

Last month I got seeds of unknown quality off a mate and they all died with only one making it about 5cm tall, I was wondering if the jiffy pots are to blame?

I'm unsure about my two 6L pot setup and also iam worried I will mess up the nutrients and kill them.

Feel free to point me towards some relevant information sources or post any advice, which I would love you for.

After I click post im going to chuck two of the seeds in water as I used the paper towl method with my mates seeds and that sucked though the seeds were probably at fault.

Will check back here regulary and will post updates and maybe photos though I dont have a camera, though I could use my laptop camera .

Anyway got home from work found my babies got what I could setup (including a 30L chillie bin full of tap water so the chlorine can evaporate) and now its time for a beer and ciggie (gonna quit soon I recon) and a big ol bongsmilie

:peace: will love you like a hippie for any good advice!!

After getting some helpfull advice I'm redoing my system while they germinate under a 1ft fluro in rockwool.

Tossing up between DWC or bubble still though I know DWC is the best for growing now still I need to find a smaller water pump than those I have found so far

Still going to go for two plants under a 105W CFL with two 4" airstones with my single 1ft on the side.

Got 4 Mandala speed queens in germination two have burst.

I read about the seeds you bought. I don't know if I would count on them being fully mature by New Years Eve, but hey maybe they'll be done... For 4 seeds your probably gonna need to add at least a few more lights, CFL's work great. No such thing as too much light IMO. To duplicate the fireball in the sky you can't have too much, but don't get them to close to your germinating babies that you burn em' up. Don't use any nutes until the 3rd week when they have had a chance to take hold. I'd recommend Fox Farm line of nutes. I use a threesome pack from fox Farm, big bloom, grow big and Tiger Bloom http://www.foxfarmfertilizer.com/products_liqfert3.html

Add 4 airstones and a good size air pump or 2 smaller ones. The bubbles help greatly. Also, bubbleponics type set-up uses feeder tubes to get water and nutes to the young root system to greatly help them along the way until they reach the rez. Some say to remove the feeders once they hit the water, I forgot to remove mine and I have since just let them keep pumping water. Shoot for 5.8 to 6.0 on your ph. Read all of the post in this section. Hope that helps. Good luck.

Cheers I plan on having 2 females (105W bulb should be enough?) thats why I'm germing 4 seeds incase things go wrong.

Iv given up on having them ready by new years that was my original plan a few months back but things took awhile to get going as the first bunch of seed I had was a dud then it took me a while to order from seed boutique which I should have done ages ago instead of relying on unknown seeds anyway....

Since I dont really have a deadline for harvest any more im thinking about skipping the water pump and just using a wick system

What did you hear about speed queens? I havnt found anyone whos actually grown it before.

Ok, I got ya, I mistook that you were planning on 4, but I don't think just one 105w will be enough for 2 plants even still, but I've only done this twice and I just poured as much light as could on both attempts, so maybe it will work.

I went to the seed boutique's web-site and read about them, I don't know anyone who's growing them unfortunately. You may be able to search the whole site and find someone who knows more about them or is growing them.

Thanks for the advice +rep

I checked out your grow you have a large amount of lighting and some nice plants and I bet you had some fun
but I dont want them growing legs and running for president

That said I spent a bit more and got a 130W CFL, I can always add more CFLs in and budding under HPS seems get great results but I will see how I feel in a couple of months or more like see how the bank accounts feeling.

Overall Iv managed to get a standard bubble/'injected' system for a decent price that hopefully will make me higher than the power bill so are happy.

Now theirs the actual growing part...

I will get round to making a proper journal once I get it all 100% up and running :)
