First Time CFL w/ LST Questions

Hello...I will be doing my first time grow using CFL lights and LST. I figured LST would keep the plant together in a smaller area so my CFL lights will be more effective on the entire plant.

I was originally planning on using all SUNLIGHT CFL (5000-5500K) lights for VEG but after doing some searches on here people seem to be using both SUNLIGHT and WARM WHITE CFLs (2700K) for VEG and FLOWER.

I will be growing 3 or 4 plants...
I was orginally planning on using 12 CFL lights (might only use 8-10 now since people are saying they are getting away with 8 bulbs for 2-3 plants).

The bulbs I will be using are 27W SUNLIGHT and 23W WARM WHITE
So question#1 is: How many bulbs do you recommend I use? 8? 10? stick w/ 12?

question#2: What ratio of SUNLIGHT and WARM WHITE CFLs should I use?
I was thinking VEG: 10 SUNLIGHT and 2 WARM WHITE
FLOWER: 6 SUNLIGHT and 6 WARM WHITE

I've done a lot of research on here before making the post but I don't want to do anything before I ask and make sure everything is cool. Sorry about being noob but I just want to see what you all would recommend for my questions.

Thanks for the help!

Sounds like you have room to test. You could see which is most efficient without causing too much heat and start with a few then build up to what the plants need.

thanks for the replies! I suppose I will stick with 12 bulbs then. How many DAYLIGHT bulbs and WARM WHITE bulbs would u suggest?

I use all daylights during veg, but some put 1 or 2 warms in there just for a broader spectrum -- but generally the plants want daylight in veg, warm in flower.

Hey man check out my grow, I used CFLs and LST'd the SHIT outta mine. Use as many CFLs as you can. The more the better. And use the 5000/5500k for veg and 2700k for flower. Dont mess around with mix and matchin the plants REALLY WANT the 5500's for veg and 2700's for flower. I mixed just one 5500k in with my flowering setup only because I dont have more 2700's!

If you havent even started the grow yet, you shouldnt even be worried about 2700K lights yet. Those lights are for flowering. Vegitate with 5000K or preferebly 6500K and then when you start 12/12 introduce 2700K and pull the Veg cfl's. There's no reason to mix and match, each spectrum specifically complements each cycle of growth.

alright thanks for the advice! I just bought 6 daylight cfl's. I'm still waiting for my seed to sprout out of the ground tho. Hopefully the CFLs help it come up in the next couple of days. I had it outside for the first 3 days/nights and no luck. Hope its not dead!
