i want to run about 60 plants as im in the loft and not a lot of headroom
how tall were your plants that clogged it?
my plants wer about 3and a half feet tall at finish. i was able to overcome the overflow problem by adding drain holes at the end of each tube.

i switched over to flood and drain because i found that the 4 inch pvc very quickly fills w/ roots and i couldnt find 6 or 8 inch pvc tubes.. i can say that the nft grew great plants as big roots = big plants and buds. i have run every sort of hydro, aero, nft, undercurrent, dwc, f n d, etc...all work well but i found the flood tables to be easiest with great rewards. i have a 4ftx6ft table, covered and by the time i pull the plants the entire table has a 2 inch blanket of roots. only 1 drain and 1 overflow drain, no cloggs, easy to change and clean the rez and table.. if your limited by the height in your room, a dwc table may be a great way to go.. you can turn any size table or tote into a dwc. you just need to use airators to keep the water oxegenated..i grew great plants in dwc and i actually still use a couple dwc 5 gallon buckets,, but in a limited height room the 5 gal buckets will take up height, youd be well off in a 6 to 8 inch tall table or under bed storage totes work well too, easy to build, easy to drain and clean, and dwc gets huge root systems...

Yes i looked into doing dwc and its just too many buckets and pipe runs for my little loft
I was looking at Heath Robinsons perpetual 10 pot wilma system grow and was considering doing exactly the same as him
I can get the 10 pot system from a local garden centre for £110 so i was gonna buy one to start with then add the other 2 when cash allows

Save some cash and build your own system with under bed storage totes w/ covers and 3 inch net pots..simple to build total cost would be less than $50.oo for 2 3ftx2ft totes, pots, airator, and stones or rockwool.. just my opinion tho,, most systems are high priced for something you could build yourself for cheap...

Do you know what?!?!?
Im going to build 3 similar things from plywood as it going to be even cheaper still
Just about 2 sheets of ply and a pond liner is needed..
I have air pumps and all that jazz already
So your right its expensive for what it is

Thanks for the ideas!! watch this space!

sorry budolski i jumped on your thread

I hope you have a better harvest next time even though you first was really good
What does your clone machine look like? looking to build one myself

I usually use soil to grow but it takes too long and is really messy

I have since built 2 the same as this one for m8s
If u got pumps and a tub a square tub u get more clone space in the system for what floor space it's taken up
well the only pumps i have are http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEWA-ADJUSTABLE-MICRO-JET-WATER-PUMP-MC320-KIT-FISH-TANK-AQUARIUM-HYDROPONIC-/400843254059?hash=item5d541ea92b:g:gwoAAOSw5dNWmOxq not sure about plumbing for ir to be fair
