First time DWC grow

Hi everyone,

I've been reading forums and googling stuff for a while trying to find information on my own (I see a lot of people get flamed for asking questions and are told to do research before posting). I have started growing a Barneys Farm Feminized Violator Kush from seed, in a DWC 5 gallon bucket. I'm doing a single plant for now to get the hang of it. My plant sprouted a little over a week ago maybe almost 2 weeks now and I see some white tips on the leaves. I didn't know what it could be from? the lights, too much moisture, not enough moisture, too many nutes, not enough?

Right now I'm using a 2 part liquid nute at 1/4 strength, 18-6 schedule, 250w Metal Halide 2 feet above plant, fan blowing 24/7 (setup is in closet). I had originally had the water level almost 1 inch above basket but I lowered it to 2-3 inches below the netting basket. (I keep getting mixed answers on where the water level should be when a seed is in rockwool in hydroton.) I'm including 2 pics. These are my main questions:

Does it look generally healthy?

is it stretching too much?

What is wrong with the leaf tips?

should I raise my water level?

Should I lower or increase my nutes?

Thank you all to any helpful information. As all noob growers I'm being over cautious lol!

I always run my water level up to the bottom of basket til i see roots coming out of bottom, then lower water level. You don't want the entire root ball submerged in water all the time. Plants wayu to small to be adding nutes. As for the lights, hold your hand over top of plant and adjust your light by the heat you feel on back of your hand.

Yea the light isn't too hot, and I was afraid of drowning the plant since it was planted in rockwool and hydroton. So should I just flush the system and ph the water without nutes? When do I add nutes then? Next week? Or just go ahead and let this batch ride out and start with plain water next week?

If the tips aren't burnt then just go with it. Would try to to keep rockwool from getting wet too often though

Thanks nick! The small new leaves have little burnt tips, so I'll see if it gets worse. If it does ill flush and wait to add nutes. Anyone else think they look healthy or need some better care?

photo (9).jpgphoto (8).jpg notice the burnt tips and now brown spots. I flushed with plain water ph'd to 5.5 today. Could it be MG deficiency? maybe potassium? PLEASE HELP!
