Was planning on buying 3 of these was wondering if they would be suitable (will be running two and having a spare bucket for res change and heard its always a good idea to have a spare pump handy), 2 concerns of mine I was hoping someone more experienced could clear up for me, could the water level hose cause algae? and would this single airstone setup provide enough oxygen for the roots?

I've always seen them use blue tube for water level thing. They say it filters the light but idk if that's true or not. Me personally don't want any place light could get in because it causes serious problems. Also me personally I'd get bigger air stones and bigger pump.

you could probably buy that stuff much cheaper on your own. you don't really need a level tube IMO. but if you do buy those, hailea pumps are supposed to be pretty decent. and you are right, always have a spare pump.

When I run an air pump and stones I use the 4" tall cylinder ones. As long as you have a good pump they do pretty good.
