First time grow 1000 watt MH/HPS

Thanks for the love my friends. I just added a polyfilm light proof door just to make sure there is not light leaks, i can never feel safe enough. I also ran ducting from my light to my outtake and from my intake to the light so i can run temps around 70 degrees now with lights super close. Ohh and added a carbon air filter to my outtake since it blows out into my family area but saves on heating because of all the nice warm air. I'll post pics tomorrow, diddn't get any tonight because i finished up the new work minutes before lights out.

i need to get working on a DIY carbon fliter, i have some materials already just need to get some carbon material and figure out how im going to rig it up.

just got to walmart. they have honeywell pre filters, buy 2, buy some screen and a 6 inch duching cap. wrap the screen around the cap so it make a tube you can connect to the other end of your outtake and wrap the pre filters around the screen. place this in your flower box so all air being sucked out of the room is sucked through that. cost is about 30 bucks.

i went to home depot and they didnt have any of the carbon, i already have screen. and need the ducting

yeah my local home depot diddn't have any pre filters, only wal mart did for 10 bucks each which was pretty cheap

Time for an update!

Due to fast growth i had to LST the plants again already, I have dozens of new tops, I still need to get pics but i'm gonna let them perk up a bit, probably tomorrow. I did get the pics of the grow room under construction but almost complete, just waiting for my Poly Film and i will be able to finish up. I LST the bag seed as well and she has exploded with shoots becoming tops. It's been a good ride so far, only a little less then 2 months to go. Enjoy these new pics.

Thanks everyone, it's still not done yet but will be within 7 days. Those fans do kick ass, i'm getting another this week for an intake through my heater ducting for fresh air from all the rooms. since the room is sealed nicely now it will help keep Co2 levels up.

I have found it works out better if you put them inline on an exhaust, and use a passive intake. They loose power pretty bad when they need to create pressure, so putting 2 in the same line lifts the pressure enough to pull all you need passively. This allows a negative pressure to be kept at all times making sure to keep all smells contained an filtered. I am currently using only 2 of those with 2000 watts of hps and 4 bulb t5 and some cfls in the veg chamber. 1 air cooled hood 1 not cooled and i am still staying in the 70's no issue. I have a lot of experience with these fans so if you have any questions hit me up, also i have a code to save some, but then you have to order it online. Let me know if you want it.

mine is working well in it's set up. I have a 150 CFM house fan as intake to the air cooled hood. It's all sealed up nicely with duct tape so all the air must go through the ducting. on the other end of the air cooled hood is the big fan with the filter attached. When you are in the room you can feel the air being drawn in at a very high rate. It feels like there is a breeze in my walk in closet lol.

So the 4 tops on the hollywood OG kush have started to shoot up and spread apart nicely. Between the White Rhino and Purple Trainwreck I already have atleast 40 strong tops. Whos to say how many i'll end up with in the next 2 weeks or so before bud formation starts. The LST job on the bag seed is working amazing, i took it's 1 main cola and pulled it down to now have about 12 tops on her. Pics will all come when i get the room complete, until then you can all just wait and see how big they get during the final phase of construction.

Update, the room is almost done, got my polyfilm and i put some up until i can frame out seperate rooms. This will pretty much be the setup until after harvest when i get another 1000 watt HPS and the frames set up. All the girls are still growing very nice. I've got more tops then i know what to do with and i trimed off all the weak tops and have cloned them. Enjoy all the pics of my fun with polyfilm and duct tape and the growth of the ladies.

Made sure to keep my vent uncovered to draw air from the rest of the house when the door is sealed.

The Hollywood OG is looking very nice, I think its ony gonna give like 8 or 9 buds but they are gonna be huge

Couple of things, 1st the timer on the power strip isnt to your 1000 watt is it?
If it is you should move it to a direct plug in location, ideally add a contactor, but i know a lot of people don't have that option.
2nd in pic nevermind, looked again and its isn't what i thought it was.
Plants look awesome, room looks like its coming along nicely.

Update, although i'm super tired i'll give a quick post. 3 of the girls have started to flower, the hollywood og is days away, she has lots of pistals just short of the first buds forming. Everyong has grown alot. I decided to just put the purple haze seedings into flower to try and add a couple ounce of purple haze to my mix, i got 7 of them now, we will see how many are females in a week or so. I added lots of supplemental lighting. I put about 20k lumens of CFL under the plants for the light starved undergrowth and added 2 UVA/UVB 150 watt bulbs on a timer for 4 hours a day in the middle of the light cycle. I have read all over that UVA/UVB will make bigger trichromes because the trichromes are the plants way of protecting the seeds from UV rays as heat. They act as little magnifiying glasses the focus light away from the calyx to keep it cool and absorbing UV rays. It makes bigger trichromes to produce more sunblock aka THC. I'll keep you all updated on how that goes. Enjoy the new pics.
