Hello, I am new to growing. I am based in Texas and started my first grow from seed 68 days ago and am growing a little impatient and have a couple of questions.
Some background on my set up.
I am using an Aeroponic system that I built from components that I purchased from Home Depot.
1. A large tote for the reservoir.
2. PVC pipe and full circle spray heads for water delivery.
A 2 channel air pump and large air stones for aeration.
6 inch baskets for the plants
Synthetic stones, made from recycled glass, for support
For lighting, I used LED lighting that I purchased from Build My LED, they now have a site called BMLHorticulture.com. The spectrum for the fixture is approximately 15% blue, 450nm and 470 nm, 10% green from a broadband phosphor and 75% red, 630nm and 660nm. I am using approximately 120 watts over a 20x30 inch grow area.
For Nutrients, I am using Pure Blend Pro Gro in Veg, with liquid Karma supplement and Pure Blend Pro Bloom for Flowering. All Recommended by my local store, Texas Hydroponics.
Seeds: I purchased seeds from BuyDutchSeeds.com. Varieties were White Widow, Northern Lights and Kaja Gold, all feminized. BDM also included 10 free bonus seeds kind of a grab bag, not feminized.
For germination, I used moist paper towels between plates. I started with 2 each of the WW, NL and KG and 4 of the bonus seeds. All the feminized seeds germinated within 4 to 6 days and 2 of the bonus seeds at 4 and 8 days.
Initially, I transferred the seeds to soil and after about a week I moved the seedlings the aeroponic system I built, rinsing the root system and putting them into rock wool and a 6 inch basket. The transfer wasnt planned, and cost me a half of the seedlings. Lesson learned.
Plants after a week under lights at 10% power just before transfer to aeroponic.
Plants after approximately 7 days in aeroponic.
I kept the remaining seedlings ( 1 each of WW, NL, KJ and bonus) in veg for another 3 weeks and then switched them to flowering mode, going from a 24 hour cycle to a 12/12 cycle. I have the aeroponic system set for 30 minutes on and 30 minutes off. Aeration is on 100%. Two of the plants became dominant and their canopies shaded the other 2. One of those, the Kaja Gold, died and the other, bonus, didnt do anything until about 3 weeks ago, when it shot up and started flowering.
Plants after about 2 weeks.
The plants have now been in flowering for 34 days. Pictures below.
This brings me to my questions.
1. Is what I have experience in 68 days normal?
2. Can anyone say, from looking at the pics, how close I am to harvest?
3. About a week ago, one of the plants developed some spots on the leaves; can anyone tell me what this is?
