First time grow! Juicy Fruit in Waterfarm Tent 600w!

Greetings, and thanks for reading my first grow journal. I am a medical card holder and have been saving up money for a while. I am a relatively new smoker and I have never grown a plant in my life. After seeing a lot of helpful grows here on rollitup, I decided this is the community I want to be apart of. I heard that once you go hydro, you never go back, so I am going to start off right! I am going to use Waterfarms!

The Setup:
DR120II Tent
600Watt MH and HPS bulb
Sun Systems Super Sun 2 Reflective Hood
600Watt Digital Galaxy MH/HPS ballast
Phresh 6" Carbonfilter
Vortex 6" fan with custom built noise reduction box (work in progress)
2' T5 HO Jump Start lighting fixture
2 Waterfarms with dual air pump and extra air stone in reservoir

The seeds:
2 Juicy Fruit Hydro Feminized

Work Done:
02-06-12: I wrapped the seeds in wet ro/di water paper towel and shut them in a CD case in a drawer for 2 days. Rinsed Hydroton 3 times and soaked them in ph5 solution.
02-08-12: I planted the seeds in 2" rockwool in tray with seedling heat mat.
02-10-12: Seedlings sprouted. I am watering them 3 times a day with ro/di spray bottle.
02-11-12: Added small fan on low.

I will be updating this as we go... but I would like some help from my fellow rollitup family.

Questions:
1. When should I switch to MH lights?
2. When should I start giving them nutrients?

let the plants get a nice set of root in the 2in rockwool and a its ture frist set of leaves so about week 4 shold be good most poeple would tell u to put the under the 600w mh now but me i think it would be to soon same thing with the nutes you can folige feed them with 1/4 light nutes like me I use recipe foe success kit and i use for folige spary feeding Thrive Alive B-1 by itself and then once in the rockwool light feeding watering of MagiCal and Root-66 but thats my 2cent bro have fun!!! I appreciate it JB. I will take your advice and wait a few more days and keep checking the roots. As soon as I see some roots pokin out the cube I will throw into WF and use 1/4 strength nutes under MH. Thanks for your help and remember to keep checking back here. set up sounds good you could put it under the mh now but would have to have the light a good 4-5 feet above the plant to start with. also id wait untill you have a good 3 nodes and a decent rootball before you start adding nutes otherwise you may do more harm than good. there will plenty of time for the plant to get big and strong so dont feed to soon. also looking at how you have your tent setup i ''think'' you may get some heat and odour probs unless you have a massive kick ass extractor... the probs i see too much ducting from filter to light from light to your extractor. i guess. the longer the ducting the more restricted the air flow and its got an awfull long way to draw all that stale air through the filter through your light fitting and out. have you run the tent without plants in to see what temps are like ?? to be fair im just submising but i can see you may have probs..

Cool. I'll be checking back. You should do one in soil too just incase. For never growing a plant you didn't pick the easiest way but defintley a fun way. One can do anything with enough information.

AMCHEESIER-Thanks for the input! I put up the MH light. I had to test it to make sure it worked right? I think I will just leave it up for the rest of the grow.. you know... kick things off right!
TWS-I know what you mean about this not being the easiest. I do like a challenge... and all my little friends in my saltwater aquarium reassured me that I know how to keep water levels properly.

***UPDATE***

02-14-12: Reduced ducting length 2.5 feet between filter and light hood. Reduced 1 foot from light hood to extractor. Setup MH lighting 3.5 feet above seedlings. I put my hand just above the plants tops and I don't feel any harmful heat. I have the lights on 20-4. Temp steady at 79F and Humidity at 29%.

Questions:
1. Is the Light the proper distance?
2. Do I need to increase the humidity?

id lift the light a little more and put a dome over the seedlings to create extra humidity they like as seedlings... otherwise all looks good keep us posted on your grow.

***UPDATE***
02-19-12: I woke to one seedling drooping. Just the leaves were drooping like sad puppy ears. So, I decided it was time to setup the waterfarm! I could only setup one because they didn't send me two bags of the Hydroton. It is Sunday. I have to wait till tomorrow morning to get another bag. After 1 hour of putting her in the waterfarm with half strength nutes, she perked right up!

Readings:
EC: .4
Temp: 78.4F
Solution: 1/2 Tsp of Flora Micro, Gro, Bloom per 3gallons water.
PH: 5.9
Light: 38in. from top of plants.
