Whats up guys/gals first time grower here and need some advice on how the plant is looking. I currently have 2 plants growing but im only gonna share one for now and ill show the other when it gets abit bigger. Im using some pro soil mix that i got off a friend, i have a 125w cfl grow light with ballast and reflector, 2 pc fans bought from bestbuy 20$ each not bad and they do thier job by keeping my box at 70-80. The only fault is that my box is cardboard its not necessarily bad but i know its not gonna last forever i will be investing in a grow tent probably sometime in January.

The plant is at 15 days from seed, 13 days from sprout, im going to be using FoxFarm Grow big (thats all i have at the moment) i will be getting big bloom as soon as money comes around. I have not used any nutes yet and this is where you guys come into play do you guys think i should wait until the plant is 3 or 4 weeks in veg or should i start tomorrow which is its 2 week mark, i dont want to overwhelm the plants with nutes so im gonna be using half strength at first and see how it goes

Lookin good dude, nice job. I always wait a couple more weeks before introducing my plants to nutes, even then it is a small introduction. But thats just because of the nutes I was using. I am not really familiar with FoxFarms recommendations..

Don't forget to try molasses when your flowering. I rant on a lot about it in a lot of threads, but it really helps deliver the carbs neccisary during flowering to pack some serious buddage.

Go really easy on the nutes for this first one. You really won't lose out on that much finished product, and you won't have to stress over whether it's too much. If the leaves are yellowing, you can be pretty sure you just need to up the dose! Don't forget ph test strips, or a ph pen. They're cheap, and crucial.

Thanks for the info guys ill try to do my best to have this grow come out as successful as possible even though its my first grow. Im curious to know when i should top my plant, also i noticed that my stem is not getting that much bigger while the leaves keep popping out of the top. I know i dont want my plant long and lanky or anything i was just wondering if i should raise my light to increase the stem size or just keep it small and bushy (which i want it small and bushy but i dont want it to effect on how it grows) the plant is about 3-4 inches away from the light which is ideal but im just a curious/worrisome novice :) ADVICE please :)

You don't need to (nor would I personally recommend to) top your plant. Try LST (Low stress training). Rather than topping your plant and shocking it (and hurting it!) why not gently bend it over above the second internode (bit where the leaves meet the stem) and hold it bent over with a twist tie or wire. Not too tight though! keep bending it down as it grows and tries to straighten out, and pretty soon the plant will start to grow several tops out of it's side rather than one in the middle.

You should start to do this in a week or two, no hurry.

Also, tight internodes are a good thing. When plants stretch for light, they just take up more space and waste time building stem rather than leaves (leaves will be the sugar factories that build the pieces for you're big frosty buds that you're gonna grow).

Thanks for the advice bro! ill definitely try lst instead of topping. I was also wondering if its normal for the plant to start to grow nodes at its 2 week mark (well they've been growing for awhile now and they have a 3 leaf set im not sure if they will turn into 5 yet since their not that big yet). But its pretty cool to see growth in different spots rather than just the ones popping from the top. Again any advice is much appreciated ill post pics tomorrow

Looking good man..

I start lite nutes about 2 weeks in. You can really tell a difference when starting nutes early..I gave lite nutes 2nd week from seed on 2 plants and lite nutes on 2 plants 3 1/2 weeks from seed the ones I gave nutes to first almost double the size of the plants I gave to later.

No problem man..Are the tips getting yellow or is that the light? If they are showing yellow then they are asking for nitrogen

Hey guys i got a question and a concern some my my leaves are starting to form yellowish brown spots and im thinking its a nitrogen deficiency but i want some feedback before i start to feed them nutes. Also i woke up this morning and to come to a surprise the fourth set of leaves are 7 leafed! is this normal? (its only 2 1/2 week old which i didnt think 7 leaves developed that early on in the grow!)
