that's probably normal prices at a hydro shop. Thanks guys.
I think I'm going to go with the ebb&flow tables. Its got the advantage with the fact that i can SOG in tables and not buckets. Would you still say that filling the pots with coco would be the most forgiving option? Compared to hydroton or rockwool or is it pretty much the same?
Also what are some different methods (something other than pots) with using the tables? For 16 scrogged plants, 8 in each 4x8 table, i can't think of any other option than just pots filled with a grow medium. Are there any other methods you guys could throw out there?
Edit: Two 8x4 tables and two 115gal reservoirs with lids is costing me 1,100 bucks! Damn! Just the lid for the reservoirs cost 117. Its the shipping thats killing me with $270 freight shipping. Even without the shipping its $840. Is this normal? I thought the flood tables were the cheap option lol...
Yup. A few others mentioned that as well and got me to change my mind. Will be doing tables instead. Or RDWC but most likely tables. Two 4x8s.I feel that much light would do more harm than good. I know I couldn't eat that much . As far as 16 dwc buckets that is a lot. However I work 50 hour weeks, and I ran 5, 18 gallon dwc buckets along with 4, 30 gallon dwc buckets. And let me tell you, even with a vacuum pump to pump out the water. It was a lot. And I'm not the lazy type at all and it had me doubting procedures (cleaning wise) because I'd get home and I would be so tired I wouldn't want to change the buckets. However I did because I knew if I went out it would be going out knowing I did everything right. Sorry to go on a ramping lecture... But short story short if you want to run a lot of dwc buckets. Just know it's not a soil type grow.... You have to check out ALL those buckets ppms/ph and ph you check daily if not twice daily.... Happy growing!
Edit: For future readers make sure to read all the posts and not just the main one.... I see your going ebb&flow... Also note to future readers... Easy ways aren't always the best. Sometimes you have to put a little work to get something different
4 1000s is a lot? How come? 1000 covers 4x4, right? Ive got a 10inch 1065cfm hyperfan that will attach to a 1400cfm phresh 10 inch filter. The lights will be cooled by a 6 inch 400cfm active air fan in pairs with 6 inch ducting by running cool outside-of-the-tent air and exhausting out of a window, along with a 270cfm air intake filter to keep dust and bugs out. I've also got a 6 inch 400cfm active air intake with a 270cfm air-intake filter attached to it.4 1000w lights is alot for a 10x10 and gonna take some serious cooling not to mention i hope u can handle that much power
The way I see it is invest once and do it right. Starting small will cost me more money. I am allowed 100sqft canopy. I start small and then upgrade to my allowed space and I've wasted money on the small project. Before you say to turn it into a veg room, I've already got that. The only thing on the line are 16 clones. And the electric bill I suppose.Way too much money on the line for a first time grow. Start small.
1000w bulb only cost 50 bucks versus a 600w bulb cost 70 bucks. But yeah the electric bill will be higher.Honestly I'm just going to say it it's a waste of energy... Not trying to be argumentative just trying to save you time and money. Work on your setup and not your wattage. I know a few people that would run laps around me with their 600 watt vs my 2000 watt setup... And their 600 watt could still yield as much as my 2000 watt just because of their growing skills and techniques.
No it definitely matters. I'm just trying to set the optimal grow environment. I could have done 600s I suppose but then if everything went good I would rather not have the remorse of "man I wish I went with the 1000s I wonder how much better it would have turned out". Anyway, yeah I could have done 600s but..fuck it. Lol. My temp control seems legit and its winter so I doubt I'll have a problem with heat.Im subbed. I want to see this. $288 is a penny to some people and to others it's $288 To each their own.
u said a 10x10 room so how is that 4 1000w lights .... at the most 2 1000w and maybe something small to kill shadowsYup. A few others mentioned that as well and got me to change my mind. Will be doing tables instead. Or RDWC but most likely tables. Two 4x8s.
Edit: Woops. You ninja'd me.

I'm sorry but your math is off. Four 5x5s make up a 10x10. Four 4x4s make up less than a 10x10, it makes up an 8x8. Therefore four 1000w lights will cover an 8x8 space, leaving 1 foot all around the edges of the tent that are not even covered within the 1000w 4x4 lighting area. Doesn't matter for me though because my scrog nets are a total of 8x8. I left myself 1 foot walk around space inside the tent.u said a 10x10 room so how is that 4 1000w lights .... at the most 2 1000w and maybe something small to kill shadows
Yeah haha I figured. 5+5 = 10 right loli was gonna argue that if you had two 5x5 rooms and poush them together u now have a 10x10 but that would be a 5x10 hahaha love it,...
Why didn't I stick with dwc? Well a lot of people mentioned that taking care of 16 dwc buckets will suck like hell. And they're right, I hadn't thought it through. So im trying to go with something that has less reservoirs. Two 4x8 tables I only deal with two 115 gallon reservoirs. The flo n gro I'll deal with probably one 55 gallon reservoir. Why you stick with dwc... Least expensive most proficient am I missing something?
