18 hours of light...6 hours of darkness, but to each their own...some people like 24 hours of light during veg. I like giving them a break, I suggest at least 18 hours of light and don't mix it up. It needs to stay consistent...not 18 hours one day, 22 hours the next. Whatever you decide...try and maintain it....good luck.
