First time grower cfl

ps. what are your box measure ments, mine are 24inches H, 20 inches L, and 14inches W.... and im growing 2 plants... you will not need a big box im telling you right now, all u need are some LST techniques . I learnt all the LSTing on my own after a few hours a research, and trial and error ofcourse. both my plants are around 14inches tall from soil. i only topped them each once, one has 3 nodes, one has 8. i also barely had any veg cycle due to shit fucking up and they still are gunna turn out more fantastic than i even anticipated before i decided to start growing!!!!!! . also my set up is basic as fuck, 2 , 26 watt cfls, and 2 , 42 watt cfls.... i started with just the 2 , 42watts ( for the first 40 days or so). didnt use any veg nutes, only flowering ( n the nutes are part of some 6 part series yet they still did wonders) .... u dont have to listen to everyones bull shit about can and cannot , and will or will not work... do what works for you .. in the end everything is trial and error and it will work. i also use pro mix soil, cheap as hell and perfect for adding ur own nutes too. enjoy buddy , feel free to visit my thread, or ill post the link if you want me to just lemme know - i dont wanna post on something thats not mine

I didn't see any bs....I started cheap as hell and am dwc not soil...which I told him about and also recommended some more research and not be to worried. I told them how all my stuff has been and they are still kicking...lol my first grow box is a 19 wide by 22 deep by 38 tall roughly...I use a cheap diy fixture that rocks the lumens...and I saved up and now have a tent of similar dimensions 22x36x63 and have done a lot of work and will hopefully have a perpetual grow of 4-6 week cycles.

i didnt read everyones comments, only the OP's, im just generally speaking. and i over read the comment about might having to outgrow the box... anything can be done in the space you need... i mean people grow 2 plants in a computer tower lol. just wanna see what this guys workin with

Seeing your grow, and a few other recent CFL grows has inspired me to consider flowering in a little cab I have using fluorescents. It needs some work but will be 24" Wide by 30" Long by 26" High. I want to set the goal of getting to a gram per watt after a couple of grows, and want to experiment with lighting etc. It would also be the perfect kind of small sealed space for selective breeding. Great job.

Looking forward to the harvest weights, dried/cured pics, and a smoke report. The Shark right? isnt it a Sativa leaning strain you got? taking longer to flower? Anyways I will toy with the idea of the flower/cab some more, and post a link to it if/when I do if you want?

nice little spot you got there, gram per watt ive heard is pretty hard to do unless your super professional, but anythings possible i mean look what i did haha/

im not gunna bother weighing it while its wet and hanging.. seeing as alot of the weight would just be stem anyways, soon as its done drying i will weigh it and have the right measurements, and its great white shark, flowering time is 7-8 weeks , and its mostly indica - my buddy has been growing the strain for years thats why i kinda hopped on the strain, i had somewhat professional help. and haha yea lets not steal the thread!! post on mine if you need something

Omg I just read your grow and loved it, I reckon you have done great with the size box you have and just the simplicity of it, keep me updated on the weight please .

As for my grow so far it is 25 days into veg today and looking pretty healthy I'm still waiting on the lights I might put it into 12/12 soon as I don't want it getting to big for the box or I will have to get rid of it .

Also I was wondering if I should top the growth in between the nodes (pic 2) ??

And what size pot should I use or is it good in the one it's in at the moment ??

sweeeet dude, i will keep u updated, ur plants looking great, and get the "i might have to throw it away if it gets to big " way outta ur head... its gunna fit perfect size to ur box, cause ur gunna make it do that!. second of, i would transfer in to half gallon, or gallon grow bag (theyre like 50 cents each) and u can fold it down to the exact size u need.. so if u get a gallon, fold it half way (ud have a half gallon bag, thats wider and shorter (which is what i did) also, u must transplant / top it (if your going to) before you switch to 12/12 .. i mean u could top it wherever on the plant u want, in the middle, on the top top growth, or even just above the first true node. its all up to you just make sure when u top it , top it as close as u can to the node u wanna keep. the rest you could either clone or just disgard. ull notice ur plant will need a few days or so to recover, but once she does she will be good ( even with transplanting, u might expierence some delay - i didnt but shit happens) thats why its best to do everything in the veg, so when it flowers you can just focus on tieing it down gently ( alot of people will tell u this is absolutly a no no , well look what happened for my grow so take my word for it ) just gotta be gentle. u could even start tieing ur plant down right now, how ever u like. there is no right way... i just kept pulling branches off to the side, and tied down absolutly everything, like everything lmao, cause i had ur same problem with the heigh - i was so nervous, but please dont be also, people say ur plant may double or triple the size, both mine grew like 5 times the size. but u could always tie and tie and tie, and if it doesnt work that way, u can rotate the pot, and if that doesnt work, u can tie the whole main stalk down so the plant is in an L shape and than when it grows up a bit, tie it down the other way so its a C shape ( thats what i did i know a guy who ties his plants down over 150 degree angle enjoy brother

Do not cover the walls in foil. Your better off with some panda film, mylar, flat white paint (cheap), anything but foil. Dont use foil

Also I will get one of those foldable pots you talk about thanks for the little tip now you have explained I understand how you can keep tieing it down now as before I thought you could only do it once, you have been a great help and I now understand how to keep it the height I want it should I top it again do you reckon ?? And don't worry mate I never used tin foil I used just plain white paper thanks very much for the help everyone. (Y)

my dry harvest 25.5 grams off the bigger one, 16.2 off the little one , and 8.8 grams in leaves and shake = 50.5 g's total, enjoy brother happy growing

Ok so I got my new bulb it's 115w and set it all up and it was great really bright compared to any of the old bulbs I was using but I just opened the box and turned the bulb off quickly and it won't come back on now just flashes :'( i have just messaged the supplier and hope he gets back to me asap. as you said Murphy's law I found a timer in my shed last night and decided to set it at 16/8 do you think this will be ok from 24/0 ?? but here's how the plant is looking at the moment pretty healthy I think (y) when do you think I should switch it to 12/12 ?? I have also had to go back to using the old bulbs while I wait for a reply.

P.S - I ordered one of those grow bags you were talking about hopefully be here soon

dude! plants looking great, for the bulb - that sucks dude! totaly gotta be a manufacturing problem but my suggestion would be not to have anything touching the actual bulb area ( the medal rope you have ) im not sure if it would do anything, im just a super safety freak and would hate for ur bulb to break some how. love the set up tho. as for switching it to 16/8 .. well if i were u i would go straight from 24/0 to 12/12 ( do it maybe 2 days after you have transplanted in to your final pot ) and have finished all you topping and everything ( topping recovery is roughly 7days, could be less or more, and transplanting could be a few hours recovery or like 3 days tops ) just doo all that stuf and u can transplant SOON as youve waited the few days after. other than that, looking healthy dude! im starting my new journal right now - just got my new seeds in and started germinating , 1 white widow, and 1 devils fruit this time

Thanks mate, it's only been fed on water so far so it's doing great I think yes I no it's a piss take as I was just about to switch it to 12/12 aswell but won't bother with just the shit bulb, but there sending a new one out so that's good yeah I think I will make something else to hold the bulb up when I get the new one (y). Thanks I think it's going pretty well for my first grow I only had it on 16/8 for 1 day then the bulb went so put it back to 24/0 as I am using the shit bulb again. As soon as pot is here I will transplant and then when bulb is here I will switch to 12/12 bottom leaves are yellowing is this normal ?? And irll have a peek mate.
