first time grower, few questions

Hey,

I'm trying to start my first grow and I find myself in need of some advice.
My cab is 60x40x90 cm, I'll probably buy a Hans panel (80w) and I've bought two of these fans. Is installing both of them overkill? (one on the bottom to get air in and one on the top to get the air out - also, will the top one have any problems if I install a DIY carbon filter on it?)
And another question would be how can I smell and lightproof my door (it's a standard kitchen cabinet door)?

Thanks,
T.

Hey bro, so a micro grow...

You will certainly need two fans, an intake and an outtake, You won't be able to attach a filter to those fans. Seeing as it's a small grow you could look into other means of odor control.... like this-

[h=3]
Price:€12.00[/h]Quantity:

LIMPURO® AIR FRESH ORANGE works on natural basis by evaporation.
Open the box and place it near to the olfactory center.
The active substances in LIMPURO® AIR FRESH ORANGE bind the smell molecules and neutralize them.
The effect materials are bound in alcohol and evaporate over a period of approx. 8 weeks.
The result is fresh, pure air, perfectly free of smells
Application
Ideal for closed areas of approx 25m2.
Ingredients:
Aqua, Alcohol denat., Sodium,
Stearate, Glycerin, Sodium
Cocoate,

I would line the inside of the door with a piece of heavy white plastic just larger than the door so it overlaps and stops light leaks

Thanks for the reply I'll look more into this Limpuro air freshner.

The main concern behind my question about the fans was that they are made as an exhaust for a small room. Since my cab is way smaller than a room wouldn't two of them create too much air flow (maybe a draft) which could kill my plant? Also they are kinda loud and two of them running at the same time would be even louder.

Thanks,
T.

Hey TJ, two fans for that small of a space is to much. You be further ahead if you set up one with a filter for exhaust and put a open hole with a filter for incoming air. Once fan will be enough and with your intake coming from below the canopy you will lift co2 to your buds. My small tent is 4x4 and 7 foot tall, I exhaust with one 440 cfm and with a 600w hps it stays at 77°. The light is also cooled with a small 190 cfm inline fan. Good luck!

That's the worst advice I've ever seen in my entire life. Do you not see the dimensions of his grow space?....fml

Buy a 4" muffin fan that plugs into AC outlets, cut a passive intake, and then build a DIY carbon filter for 20 bucks.

Ona gel does the best according to many other growers although I haven't used it myself. When I first looked at the pic I thought it was yogurt :D
