First time grower seeking experienced advice!

As you can tell, I'm new to the forums! I have been interested in growing for quite a while now, but never got my hands on any quality seeds. Around my area, nobody has anything good. It's always Reg! Every now and again you may come across some decent mid, but that's once every few weeks or so. I have a lot of bagseed from all of the Reg, but I don't want to attempt growing it if it won't come out good.

Onto the real question!
I am looking to grow for personal use. I have never grown before, and I don't want to just drop a seed in some soil and see what happens. I want to do it the right way, the first time, so that I can get the most out of it. I am wanting to grow indoors, simply because the weather here is very, very strange. It can be mid-April to early May, and we'll have snow on the ground. The next day, it could be 80+ degrees outside!

I don't need a plant that will produce pounds upon pounds, but more around a couple ounces here and there. Something that grows rather quickly would be nice as well. I would like to do this grow discreetly, if at all possible. Can someone suggest a good, potent strain (preferably Sativa, but wouldn't mind a Sativa dominant hybrid either) that would be quick and easy to grow indoors for a beginner? Any advice would be awesome. Thanks!

try growing so bag seed, just to get a fell for growing, they were free seeds right? then once u have a good fell for it buy a pack of 100$ seeds. ur not going to be so upset if u kill ur bagseed plant. by the way chemdog came from a bag seed

I'll give it a shot, but the only thing that concerns me is height. I was really looking into a Ryder strain because it grows quickly, doesn't yield a whole lot, and it's really short. I have heard some pros/cons about auto-flowering strains though...

auto flower or not u will still have 4 - 5 foot tall plants......

I thought LowRyder didn't get much taller than 16 - 20" or so?
