First time growing expert advice needed

Hey this is my first grow so I wanted to make sure I started it off on the right foot. I have six clones under a 1000 watt hps light. I am using soil for my first time. For the soil I chose fox farms ocean forest because I heard a lot of good things about it. I will also be using some fox farms nutrients throughout the the grow. For the clones I chose to grow some blue bull that my friend was growing. It is a cross of berkely blues and pit bull. When I looked it up online it said it was over thirty percent THC and my friends nugs were super frosty. Theybare also averaged to yield 3-6 ounces per plant but I'm not expecting that for my first time. I will be updating the grow with pictures weekly so any advice and suggestions would be very appreciated.

30% THC is like 50% more than the world record. Not possible. It sounds tasty but not that potent! Good luck, can't wait to see it!

actually most seed banks list at least a few strains as having greater than 20% THC content, also some I have seen claim as upwards of 23.7-27%, all of this is under absolute perfect conditions, but isnt that why most of us grow inside?

also, consensus seems to be that those numbers dont actually mean anything since there is no standardized method for measuring the thc content, and THC is only a small part of the enjoyable qualities in pot, I would rather see companies supply an average cannabinoid makeup for each of their plants, giving the ratios between the chemicals rather than an abstract number that doesnt actually mean anything, and may or may not be based on a scientific measurement.

1000w HPS seems excessive for starting 6 clones. I've never used HPS in the vegetative growth stage, only for flowering. Instead, I use T5 HO fluorescents for clones and small veg plants, and MH bulbs for larger veg plants. HPS for flowering. Also, more cost effective. My 2 cents aside from the THC level convo. Good luck on the grow, hope this helps!

Ya I thought it sounded high but either way it was in the top three best strains I've ever smoked and I've tried a lot of high end strains. That's why I can't wait for to see these plants starting to grow. I'll post some pictures tomorrow. How does the setup sound?

Some seed banks do. There are some medicinal information sites as well. They list THC and CBD %.

I use a 400w MH for veg, its perfect.
Indeed. I was always like "whatever", and then you see the results and it's like WHAT THE FUCK!
