First Time Growing from the seeds of mex-brick weed

I use to smoke brick weed way long ago and from those sessions I always saved every seed I would find (still have many seeds saved to date)
So after smoking many wonderful strains here in SoCal, I decided to plant and grow my mexican saved seeds outdoors(around late August this year). I Planted 3 and only 1 came out female so I removed the males.
I also used a special fertilizer for vegetative and changed to flower fertilizer once she stared flowering(with ph control)
As of now shes smells and looks strong with shit load of trichomes. Also recently the weather has started to change to cold every night, there are parts of the buds that are turning purple (barley noticable)
I kinda want to know that strain name and if any some tips for the rest of my growing and harvest. I'm 99% sure it's a sativa dominant but I'm curious to find out the genetics

it's about impossible to know a name of the strain of cannabis that you're growing, being that it came out of a bag of mexi brick and all.. it could be a land race strain, it could not be, who knows..
saying that, it looks more of a hybrid to me rather than a pure sativa, more of a combo of indica and sativa.. a pure sativa would tend to have thinner leaves and would be super lanky in growth.. hybrids are good combination of both and can share many traits from either end of the spectrum..

Gnarly. Thanks for the info man. Thought I attached more pics but now I did. I feel like it's a hybrid but leaning towards sativa hence the earthy smell but now it kinda smells like dog food (in a good way) If it is that strain, it takes for ever for her to finish flowering, I'm pretty sure she's close to harvest time right?

i'd say you've still got a good couple of weeks left.. i know it's hard, but it pays to be patient now you've made it this far.. the first thing i wait for it for all of, well, 90% or more, the hairs to fully recede back into the buds.. first, they'll shrink a little and change color, let them keep going past that until they're mostly all receded, pulled back in, to the buds.. i'd not even think of chopping before this..
once the hairs have receded, the calyx, will start to swell up real nice.. it'll be pretty easy to see the difference before and after they do.. once they swell, you can get a little hand held microscope or jewelry loop to check out the trics.. when looking at the trics, make sure you're looking at the ones on the buds and not on the fan leaves as the ones on the leaves tend to mature sooner, and sine we want to smoke the buds and not the leaves, go by the bud trics.. what you're looking for is the color the heads.. under the loop, they will look like a small lolipop, the head would be what we suck on, lol.. anyhoo, when they're not yet mature, the head color will be perfectly clear, and as the mature, they will go from clear, to cloudy, to an amber color.. i like to see very little in the way of clear heads, and mostly all cloudy with a small percent of amber.. some people like no amber, and all cloudy, that's just personal, but you want as little clear heads as you can wait for.. once you see mostly all cloudy, you can think about chopping.. you can always post more pix when you get closer and i'd be glad to help..

Could be anything, and you’re correct of course about it being impossible to identify. But if you knownthe region of Mexico it came from you know a lot. And while we associate Sativa with thin leaves, land race strains continue to evolve. A pure Thai Sativa will develop very thin leaves to handle the rainy season. A northwestern Mexico Sativa won’t get a lot of rain, so the leaves will widen out.
I say if it’s mex brick weed it’s a good chance it’s landrace pure Sativa even. They obviously haven’t advanced their horticultural technique, so they’re using the same strain many ancestors have grown. You might have something really special. Happy to trade with you NY Diesel Kush 50/50 if you’re interested. Enjoy the grow and harvest!

Be aware pretty much all mexiweed is inbred strains .... they are never grown for quality or taste. Mexican red hair , Thai hybrids and such are too diluted with cross pollination and forced with pgr and other shit. Cartel weed is shit ... bugs , stems , trash , mold and chem all wrapped up in a bundle. When DEA grabs bundles , their doing the streets a favor. None of that shit is ever cured or dried properly. Most are compressed and the heat from it finishes it. Sweat cured garbage.

I remember the old dime bags ( lid ) from back in the day .... fucking shake , twigs and pieces of leaf .... lol

BUT ..... If you grew them out PROPERLY from start to finish ..... sometimes you get some gems. :bigjoint:

I grew mexiweed that grew out pretty well and was a very heavy Sativa as you describe , but their genetics were a bit weak when it came down to stressors in some of my grows. But , they were LONG flowering .... up to 15 weeks. Far longer than some cartel would like to take to market. Most will throw seeds , some only at end . But overall not bad , just a long drawn out grow.

Noted! TYSM, she's still growing new branches (which is odd in this stage) which means some parts will grow faster than others, so that will be fun and it'll give me a lot of bud to trim for days. I read somewhere that cloudy, Amber and clear trichomes give you different highs. Cloudy is the best high I think, but I'll do that. I'll post more pics once I go to Mexico later (I live close to the boarder). She's planted at my grandmas garden in her backyard. I just want her to mature soon, since winter is tight around the corner and I don't think she can survive it

Seeds were huge and healthy on my end but who's know, gotta wait till the end result. And no seeds on her, I'm really taking my time look for any signs of pollination. ;)
