I have my plant under a 18 watt normal fluorescent light bulb. I planted the seed without germination in some soil from the garden out side. The light is about 2-3 inches above soil and I put tinfoil around to makeshift my own fixture. i understand that i wont be able to grow a full adult plant on this light, but will it work for the sprouting stage? *any extra tips will be much appreciated thank you.*

Tin foil is absolutely awful to use as it causes hot spots. Also you need to have a 6500k florescent bulb for veg. Im willing to bet you're sprouts soon to be very stretched (if its not already) and you'll see him/her fall over. Get some good lighting there of the spectrum I earlier mentioned and have it about an inch over the plant. Use your hand to determine the heat. If your hand gets hot where the top of plant is its too close. Also you're def going to want a fan on the sprout to strengthen up the stem.

If your soil is from outside in the ground... Check for bugs
i did there was only this extremely small thing, which I took out just in case. but the soil is rich it grows flowers every year but would this still effect the time in which sprouting will occur?

Ok well your sprout is obviously gonna be very stretched once it sprouts because the light is too small but here is what you can do

this sprout isn't stretched out as much as yours will be but you can pretty much do the same thing, just replant those long stretchy stems!

I'm using a 23 watt cfl 6500 k about 2 or 3 in. above and it didn't stretch. Also using foil and no problems yet. ( well there was a problem but that was a soil issue). Would post pics but can't seem to do it off my phone. Good luck!
