I used coir\horse poo\Vern for years, I found only a slight increase in yield when.using Hpoo, wasn't enough of a increase to justify all the extra hours it takes to do a true pasteurization. ( bucket tek won't work for any dirty subs like poo)
I used the 50\50 tek for years with great success. Its easy peasey , do this:
Get a brick of Coir or weight out 650 grams of Coir if using the big blocks. Make sure to break up the the Coir into smallish chunks so the water soaks it all real good and there are no dry spots. Then add 8 cups of Verm to the broken up Coir. Boil 3.5- 4 quarts of water ( I find a touch over 3.5 works best) once the water is at a full boil pour it into the bucket, try to pour it around the Coir so you know it's all soaked, then snap the lit tight on the bucket( You must have a lid) wait about an hour then open the bucket and a quickly and cleanly as you can get in there and mix up the Coir a little bit, you just have to mix it a little. Then just wait until it's cool enough to spawn.
You just have to be clean when you do this not sterile, if you have clean grain spawn then the myc will colonize way faster than any nasty can take a foot hold.
Sorry no pics, can't upload atm. Hope this helped a little
