These are two plants I've got growing in my bathroom. I really didn't expect them to do this well, but now that they are I don't want to lose them. They are about 5 weeks old. I need ANY tips. I have no clue what I am doing so any walkthrough would be greatly apprecitated. Thanks

They look pretty good. What kind of light are you using? Hopefully CFLs. You can pretty much have the plants touching the bulb because CFLs don't really get hot.

Hoof: Daily watering not good. Let them dry out a bit before watering again. At least one of your pictures shows little 'shrooms growing--that's because it's too wet. You need to dry things out before you catch a nasty mold. You'll probably get used to "feeling" by weight when they need to be watered--probably every 4 days or so. If they start to droop, you waited a little too long, but no biggie, just water then.
The pix look good otherwise. You'll probably use up the nutes in the MG in a few weeks. You'll want to add some of your own after that, or when your plants begin to look pale.
Happy growing!

The swirly ones are CFLs, thats good. You don't need to water them every day. You can actually let the soil get dry and crusty on the surface as long as there is moisture deep down. That also encourages root growth. A good way to tell if you need to water is by sticking your finger in the soil about two inches. If its wet down in there then you don't need to water. Usually if its not too hot you don't have to water for 3 or 4 days at a time.

P.S. you should probably start thinking about transplanting to bigger pots depending on how big you want to grow your girls. A good rule of thumb is one gallon of dirt per foot of plant.

Yeah I'm curious as well how did you get those shrooms in there I'm pretty sure mg soil is sterilized. But anyway tips tips tips... you really should read the threads around here all the info you need is in them everything from grow guides to nutrients, plant problems, training its all in the forum you just have to do a little digging around and ultimately it will help if you search on your own because you will find threads that are not what your looking for but contain info you can use.

Yeah, easing up on your watering frequency should help. Those pics look a little yellow to me...are you using "soft white" cfl bulbs? Dunno, maybe it's just the pic, but fwiw the "cool white" or "daylight" bulbs are best for the early (vegetative) growth stage...while "soft whites" work best during the flowering phase. While it's not absolutely necessary to match the color temp to the growth stage (your plant will certainly grow under either), you might see better results following this "rule of thumb."

I like those reflectors, I use them all the time with my cfl bulbs. For about 10 bucks at Home Depot...an instant plant light! I especially like 'em when I find myself with an extra plant or two and no more room in my garden area.

I would put them outdoors soon since outdoor season is here or almost for some. IMO I'd put them out in late May. Free light and bigger results. Peace, jethead

Yeah man i've been running this same set up for awhile. The only problems i see are that the nutrient ratio in your miracle grow potting soil is too high, it's great for tomatoes... but it will burn pot plants. If you see our bottom leaves begin to lighten up and turn yellow...This is what is happening. If you want your plants to grow at a fast rate, and not be stunted and retarded.. Then go down to your local garden center and pick your self up some organic soil with a 10-15-10 Nutrient ratio. If you don't know what i'm talking about the people at the garden center will and they can explain it to you maybe better than i could. The acronym NPK stands for "nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium" Also while our at the store, pick up some 6500k Cool White CFL (the curly one's) Bulbs. Your plants need this blue spectrum of light right now because they think it's spring. (the are accustomed to germinating in the spring throughout their ancient life cycles) these bulbs emit alot of the spectrum of light spring sunlight emits. Other wise just stick them out in the sun! Peace

While it is true that you can get a plant 'pretty close' to a CFL bulb because they don't get that hot, you can most DEFINITELY burn a plant by having it touch a CFL bulb. I've had plenty of first hand proof of that...LOL Unless you are growing in a very cool environment, the heat from a CFL will be evident once you get within an inch or so of the bulb. You will notice signs that the closest leaves are feeling the heat - back them off a tiny bit and take note where the danger zone lies with that particular strain (some will take it better than others). When your plants reach a growth spurt, they can shoot up an inch or more in just one day. This poses a problem if you've got them all riding the lights too closely, and you aren't there to raise the bulbs immediately. A daylight bulb (6500k) will probably give you better growth results than a cool white, at a bit more distance that leaves you with room for error. -Mandi

Sounds good to me bro! I will be checking in from time to time to check on ya. Good grow so far and that baby is short and really wide just the way they need to be for nice internode placement. Loving the pics too!
