first time growing!!

when should it be about time to check my girls to see if they are ready to pick? they are outdoor indica! i live in the north east of the usa!

I am in N. Mass. My sweets are in my back yard, I see them everyday. Mine are just starting to flower, and I was able to spot one male out of seven. As for checking for harvesting, I would imagine late Sept or so.

what should i be feeding them and when should i go with just h2o!
