First Time Growing!!

Hi all! I bet you guys have plenty of newcomers that ask the same questions over and over again.. I am new lol I just wanted to know if my seedling is healthy and looks good to go for veg i know that these cotyledons are supposed to fall off i just wanted to double check from you experienced growers. I am about 8 days in. from seed .. I am running 3 cfls i think 42w for soil i used a mix of organic peat moss, perlite and some regular organic potting soil. I do not have a PH tester but i just ordered one and dyna-gro Foliage Pro. I have included a picture as well.

Thanks for any help!!

Looks ok. Dont start giving it nutes until around the 21st day and start with 1/4 of the recommended dosage. How far are the cfl's from the plant?

The Cfls were close at first but I felt as if they were to close so I backed them off a bit about 8 to 12 inches away. And thanks on wen to give them nutes!

Your welcome. I hope you put up some updates on your grow. Your gonna have a good time. Cheers

Def will be updating in the grow! I put them further away before I knew what the cotyledons where and that it was okay for them to get that color I must have mistaken that for heat stress. I have a mini fan blowing in my veg box too keep it cool but warm.

id say 8 is fine and gradually drop down .... i usually start wit 5-6 from sprout end up around 4-5 inches thru veg ...put ur hand between ur light and plant if its to warm for ur hand its too warm for your plant.. a fan helps alot

Thanks guys for the quick responses btw. Okay I used the hand method u just told me and 6 from the plant seems just right. I def do not want her to stretch out on my first grow lol. As for watering do u recommend every two to three days when the soil gets dry?

do u have drain holes? i go by weight all the way thru... if your pots real light and feels like your soils damn near bone dry its time to water

stop putting ur fingers in ur dirt first of all lol... go by weight u want it very light...if it still feels moist and has a little weight wait... they dont mind going dry for a little bit...

u got the right lights so ur good there... work on ur distance. things to look for are ....canoeing (where ur leaf will fold in half longways pretty bad , leaf tips turning up towards light, leaves real dry an crispy , the edge of the side of the leaf curing upwards...

:bigjoint:Haha will do and it feels pretty light weight to me so I'll probably go ahead and water her but then I think I don't want to overwater her lol
