First time harvest - What are these pods & How long should I wait?

Hey, first time grow and I'm coming up on harvest time and I have a couple questions. I'm growing 2 different plant strains:

QUESTION 1: When I bought the seeds (Irievibe woot!) they said "ready in 70-77 days" (for plant 1) and "ready in 55-65 days" (for plant 2). Does this mean flowering time or entire life, seed to harvest?

QUESTION 2: The plants are strong with lots of white hairs and trichomes (with the little mushroom tops and all) but very little bud and the tops of the hairs are beginning to turn brownish. I'm confused because I read everywhere that these were signs that the plants were finished but there isn't much on them. Here are some pics, how long should I wait?



QUESTION 3: What are those things that the red arrows are pointing to? A bud or a seed pod? (pics of plant 1)


Sorry I'm a total NOOB, way in over my head here.... Any help is much appreciated, thanks!


UPDATE: Ahhh ok after more reading it says the hairs will turn dark if seeds are formed? So maybe those are seeds! I expected this because I had a sneaky male about a month ago. It doesn't look like every branch was pollinated, will the other calyx clusters still produce bud?

The things with the red arrows are seed pods/false seed pods. Pretty normal to show although one concerning thing is there looks like actual seeds in there not the white false seeds. Have one of the plants hermie-d?

The days listed is flowering time, this is normally from the time they to flower not the time you switch to 12/12. The buds will fill out within the last 2 weeks of flower normally so if they look smallish now they'll tend to get bigger towards the end. What sort of light are you using?

as long as you dont fin nanners under any of your bud youll be cool, bu t if you do, chances are thats not a false seed pod. honestly they look very well seeded to me. ive seen it a few times.

23W soft white CFL bulbs (2,700K) about 6-10 inches from plants, about 3 bulbs per plant (depending on where in room)

ooops, 6 -10 inches there too far away as absurd it sounds. General rule is keep them about 2-3" away some people have closer to 1", as longs the plant is not going to be burned or get heat stress you can keep them as close as, CFLs don't produce a massive amount of heat.

try put your hand over the canopy of plant and adjust the cfl until you feel heat.

your not going to see massive buds with that little bit of light. The plant got pollinated, thats seeds developing. Watch the color of the trichs to see when they are ready, i prefer 75 % milky and 25 % amber

That is obviously average days it takes to grow the plant to the fullest potential. I think "ready in" refers to when it is time to harvest your plant. You can shorten down the time on many plants by starting your flowering phase earlier

This was a help to me and posted here by someone else as a tool to find those pesky Trichomes colors.
Below is a picture of a diagram that may help when using the magnification posted by RUMPLE.

I always use feminized seeds and if you had a "sneaky male" it could explain why your buds are small if they have reached the average time in days it takes to produce, but to answer this question for me would be difficult without doing detailed research on the situation.

awesome, thanks. Can you give me pointers or know of a link that explains how/when to extract seeds from the plant?

I've read that you can pluck them right off the plant once they're ready but I've also read that you can dry them with the plant.... What would you recommend?

They say 2/3rds of your bud should be milky/cloudy. But the mix of 50/50 ain't bad either! lol
