No but the Home Depot people were really impressed that I knew so much about CFLs. I told them I have a lot of free time on my hands.
Oh yeah, my turnips just sprouted and I started the germination process with some cherry tomatoes. Cucumbers as soon as one of the other ones finish. I also have mint and ghost peppers in mind. Anyone growing other plants in or near their garden?

I grew Habaneros last year, some green onions, tomatos, beans and Jalapenos.

you ever grown a pineapple they look pretty sweet have had one going for 3 years they take forever to produce anything

No, don't care for Pineapple, so I never tried. I do like the look of tropical trees though.
I've been wanting to try Artichokes, and Avocado, but I had a couple Avocado plants going and they were a couple feet tall, then I read the majority of them seldom produce fruit, so I lost interest.

I've been hearing about the cloth bags, and people using the canvas shopping bags, but haven't tried yet.

A buddy of mine, who is a caregiver, uses cloth bags and swears by them!

Oh yeah, that is aluminum foil you see in the corner. It works, it's cheap, and basically....I wanna master all of the cheap ways to grow flowers.

You can either take 2 pieces of wood, one on top, and one below, clamp them together (with the bag between so it doesn't rip), and drill more drain holes in it, or if you have a hole punch you can use that too.

You saw the pics of mine at 17 and 21 days, didn't you?
At 17 days it was 5" tall and 5" wide.
I just measured today, at 35 days, is 12" tall, and 17" wide.

Just did my first nutrient feeding for all 5 plants and the veggies I got growing. Just under half a teaspoon of the following: Dyna-Gro 'Pro-tekt', Dyna-Gro 'Grow', and General Hydroponics 'CaMg+'. I heard somewhere that after the initial feed, a 2nd is an optional to make sure the whole pot is evenly watered. Anyone care to weigh in on this?

When I water, I pour just fast enough for the 1/2 to 3/4 inch free space between the top of soil and top of pot fills with water, let it drain, repeat 3 or 4 times, making sure I have good runoff, then let it drain for about 20-30 minutes before putting back in the closet.
That way, I don't have to put a saucer or anything under to catch runoff.
