I know this may be a very dumb question but I will ask anyway. Does anybody know the output of christmas lights and would they work if you had enough and the right ratio. I was thinking of making a homemade box with using christmas lights covering every square inch of the use able space. would this work or am I crazy. well I know I am crazy but you know what I mean..
I doubt christmas lights put out enough for the plants to grow properly.

dude thats not a dumb question i (that 5hit) had the same one a while back heres the link read it please https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/207516-lights-lights.html

i think it could work

I will give it a try on my next grow I think if I drill a hole every three inches in a 6x6x6 box that will be tons of light.

Oh by the way has anyone ever tried Salvia? I have been researching it on the net, it looks like a lot of fun for some and not so much for others. Sorry this is so far off topic..

I'd be surprised if it work, since I believe that even with clear bulbs, the output is not strong enough, even with all of them lined up and packed as close together as possible. Also, Unless I'm mistaken, they're not of the right spectrum to help with plant growth.

But hey, if you're able to prove that they work, I'll be jumping like a frog on steroids to the nearest hardware store close to my house at christmas time!

My grow will be made up of all christmas lights it will be a while I have to save up for peg board and lights cant wait till they go on sale at Sams club if I remember correctly they are 8.99 for 190 lights so I will buy 1900 to start with. Then put them in peg board, to hold them in place. At least thats the plan.:weed: I will deffinnatley make a journal of it. I am thinking of veging for at least 6-7 mo.
