First time poster, long time reader. Small confusion

So for the past few month I have been lurking and researching and I'm just confused on a few things. This will be my first grow. Small closet area till I build me a cabinet.

Was reading a lot about the DIY aeroponics and the thing that confuses me the most is how long do you keep the plant in the aeroponics. (rubermade with ez-clone speakers and net pots)

I will be starting from seeds have a bunch that I received from a buddy. Once the seed is germinated I put it in the rockwool, at what tome do I put it in the net pot? Now as a seedling or when it shows first sprouting?

Now does the plant stay in the same 3" net pot for it's entire life or does it get transplanted in the flowering stage?

Also what medium is used in the net pot. The rockwool and the orange balls. ( can't remember the name off the top of my head.

One last thing. Am I going the wrong route for my first time grow? Should i stick to soil until I'm able to get a few clones then put the clones in the aeroponics?

The Balls are called Hydroton :)

I am not sure why you are using an EZ Cloner if you are starting from seed?
Anyway, you use the rockwool and the netty pots for starting out the plant to give it something to establish it's roots in, eventually the roots will grow through the wool and the net pots and completely hang below them. No need to change during flowering (even if you wanted to, it is damn hard to get the roots away from the net pot). Then the sprayers on your Aeroponics setup will directly hit the roots with H2O and nutrients that you add to the mix.

I would go for soil if I were you simply because it is easier to deal with.

Not to bust your enthusiasm bubble, but stick to soil man. Don't get yourself involved in the aeroponics stuff right now. I'm sure it will be easier to grow in plain soil until you get thru your first grow. You'll learn a lot thru the natural soil process and have a better chance at a successful and higher yield crops. Just my 2 cents.

I was figured most would say go soil first to get a grow down and learn all the basics.
With the soil i heard that fox farm is really good. There is a guy here in town selling fox farm oceanic bags for 10$ a pop. I read somewhere though that it's a little to harsh on the seedlings. Is there a way to tone it down a little?

I was not going to use a ez cloner system I was going to buy the sprAyer heads.

Don't get any sprayer heads or any cloners or anything else for that matter. DO get Fox Farm soil and if you can DO get some rockwool cubes to start the seedlings in. If not, a lot of people have good success at planting the cracked seeds directly into soil. That's all you really need to start. A lot of people in these forums really make it more complex than it really is. Keep it simple, don't love your plant to death and you should be good to go. I wish there was "a guy in my town" selling fox farm soil. LOL
