First time PPM meter reading (soil medium)

So i bought this ppm meter, measured the ppm of 1 gallon of tap water with nutes (gen hydro flora-"transition to bloom" recipe), before feeding...it was at 1870.
I fed my single plant (in a 3 gal air pot) all but about 3/4 cup of it, and the run-off read 3350.

Now before i waste time looking at the wrong charts somewhere...what does this mean? Is this good or bad or normal? Whats a reasonably reliable chart i could look at to help me in the ppm range area of knowledge.

Runoff ppm is not indicative of anything in soil.
Are you growing in a soil-less medium, and only bottle feeding? Or trying to feed in an actual soil that could sustain the plant by itself?

Its FFHF soil...I'm just trying to see how much of the nutes the plants are actually taking up...I thought this was how to achieve that. But I dont know squat with ppm! I'm just feeding 1 of my 3 plants (this particular plant a white widow) a level of nutes for "transition to bloom" and I just wanted to see if this meter would help tell me when to switch to a full bloom regimen. I dont know! I just try shit and see what happens, gotten me this far and a fairly nice set of plants!
I'm all ears if you or anyone can offer some insight therein...

If you want any sort of ppm accuracy you really need to make a slurry 1 part soil 5 parts water let it sit for 15 to 30 mins ive heard to let it sit for 24 hrs i tried both with similar results and then filter the water wuth a coffee filter and test that it will give you a much better idea of what your plants are using if you keep a log of what went in you will soon begin to see the pattern of each plant.

Thats a damn good idea...

This is my first hard attempt at learning nute adjustments...I have some good base plants in veg, the one I'm referring to here is a white widow that sprouted back on Sept. 1st! (little first time LST learning goin on there) Its being fed per label directions for transition to bloom, and all i want to know before i flip is how much of the nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium is actually being retained at time of the flip, so on my first batch of full bloom nutes i feed it i can adjust either of the 3 (gro, micro, bloom) nutes to give the plant what it may lack and back off what it has plenty or too much of. I just feel that is important to my style of growing.
Im a technical grower...i use numbers and percentages to go off of...I find it difficult to "eyball" the plants to say it needs this or that or pick the pot up and tell ya exactly how much moisture is in that soil. This knowledge may come in time but ive a technical dude all my life!! lol
