When do marijuana plants reveal their gender?
Cannabis plants go through two stages of life, the “vegetative” stage and the “flowering stage.”
They first go through the vegetative life stage, which you can sort of consider its “childhood” since the plant is only focusing on growing bigger and taller, and gender doesn’t matter. At the beginning of this stage you usually can’t tell what the plant’s gender is.
However, once the plant is about 6 weeks old, it will usually show signs of “pre-flowers” which will alert you to the gender before the beginning of the flowering stage.
Pre-Flowers usually reveal the gender around week 6 from seed
Otherwise you must wait for the flowering stage

Day 14: nothing special besides normal growth and the bigger one has a very heavy skunky smell already! I can't stop sniffing it lmao just gave them a lititle water as leaves started to hang slightly. Temps dropped last night due to room being so cold from snow. But all is back to normal. Here's a few pics after watering today. PH on water is 6.8-7.0

OK guys so bad news(I think). Today I decided to top the Older one. As I do so I noticed balls! (I think) pls help me determine if it is in fact balls or just some type of new growth. Its only in the area where I just topped. Gonna wait to see if anymore pop up in a few days before I chuck it. I have more beans to germ so no worries if it is. I hope pics are clear enough.

It looks like new growth to me. Doesnt look like any pollen sacks i seen. Id wait before trashing it. The balls will definitely be noticeable once they develop a little more.

Hey it was Def sacks lol showed up on another spot so decided to pull HIM this morning. Still have the other which seems to be doing great. Also waiting four other seeds to sprout to start again! Hopefully the odds will be greater this round. Gonna order a few autos this week as well.

OK so a lot has changed since my last post. After some much needed mentoring from a respected member of RUI, things are going great if not better than what I expected.
Last time I got one male so decided to germ the rest of the bag seeds I had left. 2 of the 4 popped. Planted both in soil abut a week ago. The older plant that was still going from when I first started finally showed white hairs today!(I think) also bought some feed for the older one. Gonna start half strength feeding once pot dries out more. All comments and concerns are welcomed!
P.s. I know I did a shitty job at topping lol. It was my first try I was nervous af! Lmao

hlg 100 or 135watt kitt would be a huge step up in lighting and only cost $150-$170. or even just a simple mars hydro fixture would be a huge leap up. the cfl thing had a time and place but as far as i am concerned if you are going to put in the time and effort to try growing. Even if you want to go with a super cheap setup... do it right. you might be able to find a high output t5 fixture used and cheap somewhere...

Hey @wil2279! Thanks for checking out my grow! I've changed my setup from CFL to led. Also this is a small/micro grow. I think paying 150-170 (on just lights) then obviously something bigger to combat more heat(more money) plus other things that comes with a bigger setup. I just don't see the need for all that when your just a modest smoker. Once you start to spend 100's-1000's I feel you more in it for profit. I'm not lol. Just decent selection without dispensary pricing. Lol so whatever comes from this will be worth what I put into my setup and also a learning experience. I think my setup will result in a decent outcome for my personal use. I've seen much smaller and cheaper setups(pc and micro-stealth grows) show dectent results with min. requirements.
Anddddddd I have a great mentor to guide me and stop me beofe i do dumb noobie things lmao.I know I mention him a lot but I wouldn't have gotten this far without him!! @KrazyG
