First time tin shed grow. NEED ADVICE.

First time growing here so please help me. I bought myself some seeds the other day. Supposed to be feminized auto-flower sativa. Sour apple I believe they were. So after considering the advantages of indoor vs outdoor, I opted to go out to the old tin shed. I lined my shed with tin foil and set up an LED light bar with 2200 lumens. Probably not the best choice but all I can afford. My five seeds all germinated and in growing in the window now but will transfer when the weather permits. Any tips or pointers are appreciated.

Happy growing

Welcome to RIU!

If you're in a place where the weather and other circumstances permit, I would put them outdoors. A 2200 lumen light is way underpowered. Also, if the shed is not insulated and air conditioned and you are in the northern hemisphere, it's going to get way too hot in there in another month or 2 (before you're ready to harvest). They will do better outdoor under sunlight.

Good luck! Peace ✌

Thanks a lot for your reply. I may build some sort of barrier then. My only concern is the neighbourhood riff raff jumping the fence to my back yard and enjoying a puff of my gear. Lol. Silly cause I would be happy to share. I think I will start planning a better approach. Thanks again for your input.

Does your yard have a 6ft or taller wood panel fence, or is it like a chain link fence?

Try to position them strategically where they get the best direct light in the morning and early afternoon. A little partial shade later in the afternoon is good, especially when they get hot.

You can plant some tall grass or other plant that gets up around 3 to 4 feet around the perimeter of the bed, leaving a few feet of clearance around the plants on all sides. That will help obscure the view. Autos dont get that tall by the time they're finished. Maybe 3 to 4 feet max height. Maybe throw down some corn.

Growing outdoor, you will have to put some effort into pest control for sure. Whatever other plants are nearby will host pests too, so you'll have to treat those as well. If you were to grow in a garden shed, you'd probably get pests on your plants in there too.

Just try to not spray anything on the buds once they start to flower. It's best to start preventative maintenance early and regularly apply up until bud formation starts to happen. Then it's fingers crossed until harvest. That's how I do it anyway.

A shed can work if you set it up properly. It should be well insulated. A good 6 inch inline fan with a 7 inch passive intake vent. Run your lights at night and off during the day. Run an air conditioner during late flowering when the dehumidifier is on and the lights are off.

Winter you can run hps bulbs so you will have the heat from them and even a small radiator to help when lights are off.

Mine is insulated floor to ceiling and have successfully grown year round. I’ve had to snow blow a path just to check the plants.

I had a chopping on xmas eve from my seed run.
