First timer-looking for any advice(pics)

yea i want small plants for certain reasons. and is there any kind of cfl's i need that give off certain light.

make sure to add MORE LIGHTING they neeed it.. also ur soil need to be a little looser add more perlite, vermeculite, gravel...they need to feel like they're growin on clouds.

yea i have soil but its in clumps. should i grind it up into like powder and put it by the plants so it covers up some of the stem. and whats with the cfl lights. what kinds do i need and how many

However many it takes to light up your whole garden, only you know that right now. And cfls are cfls. Go to home depot or lowes and say your looking for some good cfls for you tomatoes in the greenhouse or somethin.

ok so theres only like one type of Cfl then, theres not many different kinds that give off different radiations or some shit like that

your fine,, just move your light to within 2in. to the tops of your plants,, stop watering for 4 to 5 days or until almost dry,, they are small so dont let the dirt totally dry out, but, wait a few days between watering,, check ph levels, should be around 6-7,,, and most of all have fun,,,lol........

WHAT???? Do you mean the sex of the plant before you buy it? Impossible unless you get fems. But to me fems are like transvestites.

also as others said , lights too far away , Dont plant more than one plant per pot!!
Don't water every 4-5 hours Moron ! you'll drown them!
New growers tend to kill their plants by too much love than not enough.

Definately too early those plants need to be big enough to support the added weight of the buds before even attempting to change their lighting to sex them.

I dont want to sound scepticle but these plants are not healthy enough to make it all the way. It will take some serious change to save these plants. Better lights and setup. But i can be wrong.

CFL's are compact flourescent bulbs they are cheap to buy and put out more lumens than conventional floros. And the plants grow alot better. If you spent 10 or 15 dollars you would have plenty of cfl's for a cheap grow. Using 24 hr light can give you more males than you will like. Use 18/6 for vegging or if you're more daring and want small plants and a small harvest you can use 12/12 from the beginning.

I guarantee you will have even less males with 18/6 lighting ... do I seriously need to prove this to my tenth non-believer? look it up all over rollitup or if you really want to just go through my past posts, and you will find out that I am right. Out of twenty some grows, I believe I have only had 10 males. Every grow I've had ranged from 5 plants to 60 plants. All together I have grown over a couple hundred plants and still only 10 males. Seriously try it ... here i'll even add some data to back it up ... again ... for the tenth time this month ...

• a higher nitrogen concentration will give more females.
• a higher potassium concentration will give more males.
• a higher humidity will give more females.
• a lower temperature will give more females.
• more blue light will give more females.
• Fewer hours of light will give more females.

sounds like you've done some reasearch on this matter so im gonna take your word for it and try it myself and see if i notice a difference my friend. thanks for the advice!
