First timer, started off rough, clones ... purple punch, wedding cake and la cush its going to be a suprise. Outdoor battling the su.mer heat.

Any advice is welcome. Im in southern cali inland.
My buddy mixed his clones up lol. So its a mystery batch.

From half gallon to 5 gallon to 15 gallon bags. Due to being so hot I wanted more media to hopefully not dry out and die while I'm at work.

Any thoughts for next years grow.

I've got a green thumb but yea this is a whole new ball field.

Welcome to RIU.

Looking healthy. Good job!

Whatever is the biggest pot you can afford to put them in, from budgetary and logistical perspective, is best. If you're in inland CA, I imagine it's pretty arid, so the moisture evaporates out of the soil and transpires through the plant relatively fast. Also, the plants will grow bigger if they have room to spread their roots more.

I've never done a training method exactly like what you're doing. I bend them over and top them and spread them out. I like to have a wide canopy. But that's a matter of preference.

The training I did was kinda an experiment because that plants lower branches were not getting light so I left it tied down like that for almost two weeks the stood it back and the majority of branches caught up. BTW thanks for the info and encouragement. I look forward to the learning bro. Its pretty cool.

Let them get plenty of direct sunlight. If they're not already used to the full sun out there all day, you'll have to harden them off slowly over the course of a week or two. Just don't let them get too dry....don't drown them either. Water/feed to full saturation, then let the pot get lighter, but not bone dry, before you water/feed again.

I'm not sure what kind of bug pests you have outside there, but I'm sure you have something. I do weekly preventative maintenance on my outdoor with neem, spinosad, and bt with foliar spray and root drench. Only apply at sunset. If you spray that stuff during daylight, it will burn the leaves really bad. Stop applying foliar sprays when buds start forming. Don't spray anything on your buds.

Ok, cool. All I've had to do so far is manually kill bugs and then spray with this stuff my buddy recommended a type of soap for pests and this fly paper seems to be killing it literally lol

I have this in the middle of the 4 plants and I cut one into 4 pieces and placed it on the inner rim of the grow bag.

My biggest pest problems are spider mites, bud worms, and fungus gnats. Those sticky traps will let you know the bugs are there, but they won't kill all of them off, and for the survivors, it won't stop their reproductive cycles.
