Firts time grow - small grow 60watt

was looking round my house for something that i could grow in. after weeks of looking found a box that was previasly used for file storidge. This isnt a joke i am actually trying to grow in this lol. here are the measurements

hight 30.5cm (12inch)
width 40.5cm (16inch)
depth 15.5cm (6inch)

i dont care what anyone says about these sizes im giving it a go cheers.. no negatives just advice wud be grate.

my lights heres the bit most will laugh at. two 8 watt florcents.. they say they each equal 30 watt normall lights. so 60watt total. i would of thought my weed seeds would not grow but they are!

+ i got top 44 seeds 10 of them + 5 free Mazar x Afghan

i germ one 44 seed + 1 Mazar x Afghan seed. Mazar x Afghan germ within 24 hours. top 44 seed takes 4 days i keep it but 1nce finally germs it grows thin stem small leaves. i ended up removing it...
will not replace yet as i wanna learn stuff from this grow so i wont waste any more seeds.

i just hope this is a female.. i plan to take cuttings.

my plant is doing well and is 2.5 inches will put up pic soon

I just use photobucket to upload photos they give you an img code you just put in the text and your photo will show in the post...

well, its a weed it'll grow for a while in the conditions your giving it, but 2, 8watt lights isnt going to do anything helpful in a very short while, and with non sufficient light comes a plant that stretches and a plant that stretches wont fit in a filing cabinet for very long....

oh and watt equivalent isnt the actual wattage, so your "60 watt" small grow, is really a 16 watt small grow

you need more lights than that man. don't be fooled. and since you have such a small space... have you thought of trying LST?

Is LST a light i searched it on google.. but no luk. Wot is it?

Mile i no they is 16 watts but it gives the same amount of light as 60 watt normall light as there florecent. still i no this is little light for my plant! im looking into geting a CFL light to go in the box and put current lights on sides. anyone no a gd one which will fit my space?

i have the plant on 24 hours light.
how many weeks/days old would you say this plant is from day i started to germ. just want to no if it is doing well or not.

Cant help but agree with most, your gonna need more light....which means more heat

what about using LED's? either that or the most ingenious method for ventilation you can design, on a shoestring budget of course

make sure to get some air in that box and search around the forum there are some great posts about LST (low stress training). it would keep your plant hieght down and increase your yeild. good luck.

looks 2-3 days old. the fact they put out light equal to a 30w incandesent is meaningless for our purposes, go by the real wattage. You can get cfls anywhere.
