Fish crap?

is fish crap and food ok for plants? and what purpose does it serve? n-p-k? i've heard somewhere fish crap was ok but i want to make sure and see if anyone else has done this before... i can't see why it would be bad for the plants but i don't really see how it'd help.

any experience?
