Never held a flyrod in my life...BUT would love to catch some bonefish or tarpon on a fly.

Ice fishing is very odd. Done it 3 times, 1st time I knocked myself out, the others I just froze to death and caught lifeless fish. A very miserable experience. I can see it if you need chow, otherwise, not so much

Fly fishing or years...great hobby.
Picked up bass fishing a few years ago, fished tournaments last year...did alright.
These pics are a sample from last summer...can't frikin wait to get back out!!!

Psshhh, what other kind of fishing is there???

Seriously though if you have all the right gear (house,sunflower heater, vexilar,etc) it can be rather comfortable. More entertaining than tv during the bite. However not catching shit while ice fishing is far more of a bummer than a day in the boat.

Went last weekend we each caught a dozen sunnies in about an hour. 2 good size LM bass, couple little snake pikes, and a few black crappie. Was a good time!

Spring fever is kicking in pretty hard though. Can't wait to get on the water again.

I usually don't get much fishing in until late summer. That's when a bunch of us go up to upper Wisconsin/lower Canada. Pike, walleye, bass, crappie. Mostly we drink Bourbon and play poker and smoke, but I still manage to drag my sorry ass out to the boats at 5 a.m. with a couple of hoarded Founder's KBSs. That's a good breakfast and the start of a good day.

We usually hit the Chippewa Flowage but the fishing there has gotten rather poor. The walleye/bass ratio is totally out of whack.

I drove through the Adirondacks last summer and picked up a rather graphic and disturbing fold-out PSA about how much fish one can safely eat from there. Eeek! Hard to believe that anybody is eating those little mercury bombs after reading that. New York, the Catch and Release State.

Here in Cali is so many fishermen that we have to stock lakes and rivers with farm raised trout. This fish hatchery does the majority of stocking around Central California. The Trout are GMO as are the Salmon. So to do any real fishing you have to go to the high country and even then they stock some lakes with planes.

I love eating the Crappie.

I also love catching Gopher rockfish, most of the time I'd call it catching and not fishing.
