anybody been LM bass fishing in the Midwest yet? Went a couple of days ago but no luck. Water warming up, shouldn't be too long.

I live in mich and it's still a bit chilly for that, unless your fishin a sun-soaked north shore during the warmest part of the day over new growing weeds 5' deep or less...usually more like 1-3 ft deep

Nice fish! Do you spearfish at all?

Hadn't been fishing in awhile but i caught a few this morning.5 fish,7 strikes in 45 minutes while I drank some coffee and smoked a bowl....a good morning

My weapon and bait of choice...7ft med heavy All-Star rod with a Lone Star Quantum reel and 12lb test line
I have a few tips for some new fishermen or anyone who cares
I usually clip the tip of my worm head just so my weight fits better...better profile ,less snags.
I like to use a little piece of toothpick in the weight to keep it from slipping on the line BUT today with a pair of needlenose i squeezed the weight tip against the line to keep it from slipping.I figured it wouldn't hurt to much the biggest fish from the pond has only been 6lbs


I like to fish lite line a lot so I've always used a little barrel swivel attached to my baits with one of those small circle connectors..this helps with line twist especially with a spinning reel and let's the bait move better

If you noticed I clipped the forward facing hook point from the front treble hook....this reduces any possible snags too.

I sometimes use 8-10lb test line on my ultra lite rod and reel so I can set the hook a little...buy the stiffest ultra lite rod you can find

I always replace my hooks on my hard lures after so long...it's just as easy to replace them with new better quality hooks than to resharpen them

Also recently I've been using aluminum tape on some of my lures.....to add a little weight but also to help right a lure that isn't retrieving true in the water....if your lure pulls to the left a little strip along the right side should help a little...it even helps add shine to a lure,which is always goodpeace

Catch and release only.......but if I caught a mess of crappie, that be a different story!

In between fishing here.lakes have rotting ice,waiting for open water!

A crappie,a 3.5 and a 4 pounder,i caught a couple more but they were smaller....not picture worthy

Took the boys fishing. Plastic bags did the marks but the Trout will taste fine after smoking.
