Fitting HPS bulb in MH balast/reflector

Basically like the title says, if i buy a MH kit (i.e. reflector/bulb and balast) will i be able to put a HPS bulb in when im ready to flower?

Nope, you'll need a switchable system to do that.

You can use a super ace 1000w hps with a 1000w metal halide ballast because the super ace has its own built in ignitor. If you use an hps without a built in ignitor you'll have to wire an ignitor into the ballast.

spend the extra 20 bucks and get a mh/hps ballast, or dont use MH at all...

ok so if i buy a mh/hps ballast the bulbs will fit into the reflector i.e, they have the same fitting?

You cant do that, just get a ballast that supports HPS/MH Conversion bulbs. I went to www.htpsupply.com and got a light system a while back. For a $164.95 I got a
400w HPS ballast and air cooled reflector, 400w HPS bulb, 400w MH conversion bulb & a heavy duty dual timer all for $165 and you dont have to worry about switching ballasts or only having one type of bulb to use, since it works with both bulbs.
